One question, if Steven, Schneider and Fisher come back how many Saints (and which ones) will have to play in Sandringhams reserves?

Probably four? Who knows which ones.

Holmes will probably go down if longer plays.

Just watched Saturdays game that I taped. Holmes must go down. Hope he makes it, but he is no where near VFL standard yet. Simpkin was fantastic.

If they want to promote Acres (and I think that will happen sooner rather than later) they will need to put five down.

That seems a bit harsh. Couldn't they just drop them to the Development Squad?

Murdoch was quiet, Minchington seems surplus to requirements, Holmes is obviously not ready yet. Those three could be in the frame. Hard to see anyone else going down - I imagine there'll be a couple who pull out of the seniors for "general soreness" so there won't need to be too many droppings.

As Box Hill arent a stand alone VFL side do we need to cap our StKilda listed players?

I thought it was an agreement with Sandringham. Nothing to do with who they play.

Under previous VGL alignment rules that was one variation with non aligned teams but not entirely clear

I've only watched half the replay so far but thought Murdoch, whilst not getting heaps of stats in the first half, was quite good with his contested work and body use.
Seemed to favourably impact most contests he was in. Some good signs I thought. Would like to see him come on this year, good build, nice kick and seems a versatile size.

Where is his best position though? I would have thought playing half back with Webster & setting up the play with his lovely long left peg

yeah maybe, very penetrating kick and good competitive streak for backline work, reasonable in the air too?
he was a foward/mid as a junior wasn't he?

Yeah good in the air, I remember reading somewhere they moved Murdoch down back for SA because he was a key forward (but obviously he is to short for AFL level) with great effect, so he can play there & it makes sense tbh unless he plays that 3rd tall forward as he has the footy smarts around goal IMO.

Certainly a different play to his brother that's for sure.

I reckon he's going to need to develop into a true midfielder if he's going to have a future with us, same as Siposs. I'd love to see them both develop a tank and become a big-bodied mid with good skills. The competition otherwise is: Roberton (194), Acres (191), Simpkin (191), Dunell (189), Markworth (189), Siposs (189), Shenton (188), Murdoch (188), Webster (188).

The VFL do have a 12/10 rule don't they?

Isn't Box Hill aligned with Hawthorn?

I dont think that rule exists anymore but it doesnt matter because we have our own rule.
