Dont know if he has got the tank actually.

Did we really give up #12 for Lee. Hope I am wrong and unlike others will say so, but this could b our worse high pick trade since Barry Brookes
Pick 12 for Lee, Wright and Saunders. So far we are ahead IMO.

I'm not sold on Lee either, far from it. But if you listen to a lot of Sandy observers they say he's the type that will impact at AFL level and not necessarily at VFL level. Apparently that's what happened last year. It was hard to believe he was given AFL opportunity given his VFL performance but then did well when promoted. I actually think he gets a go, by default if nothing else. I love Beau's effort but he hasnt hit the scoreboard nearly enough to get a 4th go IMO.

we got pick 43 from the eagles for cripps...used it to draft saunders....

Cheers Sting. Looks like when the compensation picks for free agents came in it pushed the picks back...Pick 41 from WC became 43 which we used to draft Saunders and pick 43 which we got from GWS in the Lee deal became 45 which we threw back WC's way in the Cripps deal.

Which was essentially the 45 we got in the Lee deal.
Cripps & 45 for 40 & 43

Did we
a) Swap Cripps for 43 and upgrade 45 into 40?
or
b) Swap Cripps for 40 and upgrade 45 into 43?

You can interpret it different ways, b makes more sense to me meaning that 12 got us Lee, Wright and Saunders.

Not getting enough goals on the board for my liking and we need some others to step up as goal kickers. I like Maister's attitude, but we need a FF kicking goals at the moment, not just cameos from Roo at CHF. Might as well plonk Stanley at FF, and bring in Longer to share the ruck with Hickey. I wouldn't rush Steven back in.

In: Milera, Longer, Dunnell, Billings
Out: Maister, Gilbert(inj), Savage, ?

Stinger is right.

Trade 1:
Lee, picks 24 and 43 for pick 12.

Trade 2:
Hickey, picks 26 and 47 for picks 13, 37 and 57.

Trade 3:
Dennis-Lane for pick 47 (via Gold Coast).

Trade 4:
Picks 41 and 44 for Cripps.

Then free agency compensation picks activated moving original picks down the order.

Pick 24 from trade 1 is used by us to select Wright.

Pick 43 from trade 1 becomes pick 45 which is on-traded to WC who select Brant Colledge.

Pick 26 from trade 2 is used by us to selected White.

Pick 47 from trade 2 becomes pick 46 (a team must have passed a pick) which is on-traded to Syd for TDL who select Tim Membrey.

Pick 41 becomes pick 40 (as above team passes a pick) which we use to select Murdoch.

Pick 44 becomes pick 43 (as above a team passes a pick) which we use to select Saunders.

As you can see original picks 41 and 44 involved in the WC deal were used to select Murdoch and Saunders.

Now it looks confusing because why doesn't pick 43 from the Lee trade become 42 just like how 41 and 44 became 40 and 43? The answer to that, as stated above, a team passed a pick (likely GWS) in the second round making second round picks 41 and 44 become 40 and 43. Then original pick 43 (third round selection which became pick 45 and was on-traded to WC as part of the Cripps deal) was effected by teams that had a third round compensation pick activated through free agency. The second round picks weren't effected by that. Clear as mud?

This isn't quite right.
The trade was Cripps and pick 46 for picks 41 & 44

The numbers changed a little when Adelaide skip the first 2 rounds & FA were added. Final picks of 40, 43 & 45

As I mentioned in the earlier thread, Cripps essentially got us pick 40.

The additional swap of our 45 with their 43 is really just Pelchen being a dick.

The 45 we had was from the Lee/#12 deal. In all likeliness, Saunders would have been there at pick 45, so the 2 pick upgrade is pretty meaningless?

Hence 12 into Lee, Wright & Saunders
Cripps into Murdoch

It's the simplest way that you can break in down IMO.

We received the draft pick that we used to select Saunders by swapping a draft pick with WC that we received as part of the GWS trade for Lee? I see the way you are looking at it. You could make an argument that Saunders was part of the WC or GWS deal IMO. Probably easier to combine both deals which end up being Lee, Wright, Murdoch and Saunders for pick 12 and Cripps???

I suspect Saunders might be rested this week - possibly for Billings. He looked tired and without his usual zip and dash. He plays a very taxing game style which is hard to maintain as a youngster.

Richo said he may come back through Sandy, is that for real?

My changes would be
Out: Maister, Gilbert, Savage, Hickey
In: Lee, Bruce, Steven, Longer

I know it's early, but I reckon Hickey could do with a rest.

Billings could be a super-sub.
Reads the play well and kicks goals and body not AFL ready yet.

What official records?
We had 46 from the Lee deal.
We traded Cripps & 46 (became 45) for 41 (became 40) & 44 (became 43)

So Cripps and 46 (from the Lee deal) got us Murdoch & Saunders

I would suggest that Cripps for 40 was the main part of that trade.

The swapping of 2 places 45 & 43 was merely a chest beating exercise - we took Saunders with 43, we would have taken Saunders with 45 - which we had before the Cripps trade, sí?

official afl publication sets it out as i stated.......give it up mate ...you are wrong.......anyway...saunders may not have been there at pick 45......

Resting and rotating young players so that they remain healthy for the long term is common practice. Saunders looked tired this week.

You actually haven't made any sense yet…
This happened…
Cripps and 45 (from Lee deal) for 40 (murdoch) & 43 (Saunders)

I doesn't matter what you are reading, if you use some common sense you might get it.

We weren't happy with pick 40 for Cripps who we took at #24, 2 years earlier.

The only consolation we got was a measly swap of 45 with their 43.

I'm wasting my time with you aren't I? You read it, must be true.

That's a pretty good side but I reckon Maister needs to make way and give our number 12 pick a chance.

And since when is this thread about draft picks anyway. It's about ins and outs. Whoever started it go and start your own thread about pick 12.

There's a bloke called Schneider who will be just about ready this week. Will he come back through the VFL? !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
