Should Hickey play?
Coach says he's sore.
At the end of the game last week I could see close up that he appeared to have had a decent corkie or similar. Was very proppy.
Longer is ready as a replacement.
If any doubt whatsover why would you even ccontemplate playing him?
Give him a week to get back to 100% for the more important match against the Crows at Etihad.
We can always go the GT circa 2002/3 uberflood (Saints vs Sydney draw starring Daniel Wulf!) .

Why do you question the coach?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Should Hickey play?
If we had a clear number one ruck and a clear number two ruck - with no prospect of 2 overtaking 1 - then I would say to play him.
But in our situation, I'm not so sure.
Did Longer fly to Perth?

Yes - he's in my dream team!

Exactly. Reckon the club and player may have us covered from the keyboard.

Re: Should Hickey play?
We have Hickey, Stanley and Longer... We want to get games into all of them but realistically only want to play 2 at a time.
If there is the slightest sense of injury related doubt... Rest him.
There is only upside to this strategy

I don't know enough about the injury but if its one that can get worse or more damaged by playing then rest him.
Rather he miss one than six. Just risk mgt.
But I have no idea about the nature of it.
Something to do with his foot muscle I think.
Should be Drs call on this one.

Trust in Player, Coach, Medicos. We are not playing for a finals spot, so if "any doubt" of the injury hindering his performance, why play him?

If they fly longer they'll be out over the Indian Ocean ConCon Gorozidis wrote:By flying Longer - it shows they are probably still considering it.

Went to Subi to watch open training. It went for about an hour, Hickey didn't train with main group but having said that maister, gilbert and curren didn't train with them either really did shots on goal and handball drills. From what I noticed for tomm expect a lot of run and spread, and they did look sharp, and clean. Lots of talk going on out there. They are certainly up and about. Smell an upset
