LTN is right. You gotta stand up for yourself in life. Bronx cheers aren't racist abuse or degenerative heckling. Different level as JB correctly states.

Question is, why is he dropping so many marks? Is he attacking the ball much harder and faster than previously,or is it just a confidence thing? That's the real issue here.

I don't care what player it is, so please don't come on in reply sticking it Beau again, that is not the point. The act of bronx cheering one of our own is completely unacceptable. What are we? Richmond!

No we are St Kilda, we know the bad times and we know the good times and we stick it tough and we support our own.

The players owe us as supporters nothing. Crossing the white line in our beloved colours and trying their best is all we can ask for. We choose to support the club for many reasons and some of us put in lots of money (when we can) but that gives you no right to boo publically one of our own. It gives you the right to share the joy and pain, comment to your mates and on this forum and god forbid facebook. But to make a public example of one player is tantamount to bullying. In other words those who do it are hiding in the crowd (much like social media) and feel that gives them the protection to do it. Little insecure people everyone of them.

How do you think it would feel to be one of the playing group and hear that coming over the fence at you. Look how ugly those Melbourne supporters looked last year booing their side off.

I live in Sydney and was not there, but any suporter who bronx cheered around me would clearly no my thoughts on it.

I have enjoyed the last two weeks as much as anybody but the two examples of the bronx cheers has definitely soured my joy.

Gee when a guy does all the hard work and then drops the simple mark (particularly when it is inside 50) I think the crowd is certainly entitled to groan in frustration.
Particularly when it is not the first time and we pay him a shyte load of dollars to hold such marks.

I also don't have a problem with ironical cheers when he finally takes a mark.
It's just a bit of Australian irony.
Let's him know that he needs to improve.
Same as when a cricketer who makes a blunder in the field stops the next simple ball and everyone cheers.

On top of the fact he tries his guts out and does a lot of good hard work for the team - he seems like a genuinely likeable bloke.

I find it very frickin odd.

I mean people pay their money can do what they want -within limitations - but abusing your own side seems a crap use of your money. Surely you can find someone in the other team to abuse?

Get stuck into Devon Smith for faking (and being called Devon). Get stuck into Patton for not getting a kick. Get stuck into Toby Green or Shaw just for being knobs. Personally, I could happily spend an afternoon abusing Tom Scully. Plenty of choice there.

If he holds on those easy and gettable marks he would have had about 5 or 6 shots on goal last week and probably would have been in the top 3 or 4 players on the ground.
There was one where he was on the lead and seemed the ball bounced off him like he didn't see it.

Lets not get too sanctimonious here - we're pretty damn loyal supporters you know. Beau is probably earning $250 grand, I'm sure he can put up with 10 seconds of sarcastic clapping from a small section of the crowd who pay their hard earned that covers his salary. Out in the middle it probably just sounds like encouragement to him. When he finally marked one I started doing a sarcastic clap and caught myself - its an instinctive reaction. I know he works his ass off and never, ever shirks backing into a pack. Doesn't make it any less frustrating when he grasses virtually everything. Does he need to get his eyes checked out or something seriously?

Exactly! Some people are way too precious over this. I can remember fans would give great some of the great players in the past like Lockett a Bronx cheer if he had a bad game and finally kicked a goal when it was too little too late in the game.

Let's face it, people. Beau has been struggling and lucky to be in the team in the first place. Full forwards are meant to hold marks, not drop them 90% of the time.
