No-one booed him that I heard, considering the mistakes he made, he cops only a small amount of vitriol, far less than many more than deserved it far less IMO…
I didn't think the bronx cheers were that bad, not that anyone around me did it…where were they coming from...

Each to their own, but I don't think saying he played well and is doing his bit is justified either…he is needed for structure but to keep his spot he needs to get much much better...

What the hell is this?

The thought police dictating how paying customers can barrack at a football match?

You can all stick your holier than thou attitudes where the sun dont shine.

Nobody will dictate who and how to cheer for.

Oh I dont Bronx cheer a player, I am no Maister fan but he tries hard and does the job required.

But I'll be damned if I will be critisised and told HOW to support my team.

If I want to Bronx cheer I will. No supporter on their moral high horse will tell me what to do and apparently thousands of Saints supporters believe that as well.

Yes they are wrong, yes they are ignorant, yes I find it poor.

But they have paid their money and they have the right to be ignorant and poor judges.

Oh saw Beau high five-ing the supporters on the fence after the game - he couldn't care less about a few dills.

Either should you lot

Aren't you doing the same, telling someone now they can and can't express an opinion on here?

They've joined SS, they can make whatever thread they want.

There is a big difference between a Bronx cheer and booing!

There was no booing, just some sarcastic cheering.

Let's face facts, the bloke's an average VFL player at best! Bring on Tom Lee!

If you like, and I would say it is wrong, just as I said Bronx cheering Maister is wrong.

But to say our supporters shamed us is rubbish.

I said it. It's my opinion. It was embarrassing. Cringe worthy in fact. IMO of course. Some football commentators agreed. But wtf would they know either.

Why should you be embarrassed? You aren't making a fool of yourself and you cant control those that do.

As I said, why would you be embarrassed. You cant control what other people do. And it is not your responsibility either.

Also you are correct, what the hell would football commentators know

Yeah,

A fat sloth guy calling him a retarded d**khead and f*** ing hopeless and to piss off back to WA, and more ridiculous crap.. At one point I turned to him and said maybe you should go out there and show us how it's done?!

A woman was going nuts about him as well, but she also bagged out Rooey .... Saying what's the point of having a Captain who can't kick?

I let her know that 'CJ' has never been a great kick, and is not Captain?!

Beau actually has pretty good hands and I've seen him clunk big pack grabs... But ATM he is attacking the contest hard, but his marking is off?

No need to abuse our players. Pretty clueless and disgusting to insult a player whom you are supposed to support.

Different to some ignorant but good natured "barracking" in a silly Bronx cheer

terry smith rules wrote:I don't care what player it is, so please don't come on in reply sticking it Beau again, that is not the point. The act of bronx cheering one of our own is completely unacceptable. What are we? Richmond!

No we are St Kilda, we know the bad times and we know the good times and we stick it tough and we support our own.

The players owe us as supporters nothing. Crossing the white line in our beloved colours and trying their best is all we can ask for. We choose to support the club for many reasons and some of us put in lots of money (when we can) but that gives you no right to boo publically one of our own. It gives you the right to share the joy and pain, comment to your mates and on this forum and god forbid facebook. But to make a public example of one player is tantamount to bullying. In other words those who do it are hiding in the crowd (much like social media) and feel that gives them the protection to do it. Little insecure people everyone of them.

How do you think it would feel to be one of the playing group and hear that coming over the fence at you. Look how ugly those Melbourne supporters looked last year booing their side off.

I live in Sydney and was not there, but any suporter who bronx cheered around me would clearly no my thoughts on it.

I have enjoyed the last two weeks as much as anybody but the two examples of the bronx cheers has definitely soured my joy.

fqf
+1 Well put, disgraceful that we turn on our own.....would prefer that these idiots didn't turn up.

Difference between a good natured Bronx cheer and instances like BigMart described above
