Brodie Murdoch

Post: # 1442786Post Vazelos »

Can anyone tell me the feeling about this boy?
I was quite excited when I first saw him, he had a great rig and looked like he had a great left peg.
It seems he may be in the level 2 category
ie Category 1 ( those that look likely to have excellent futures)

Luke Dunstan
Nathan Wright
Jack Newnes
Tom Hickey
Tom Curren
Jack Billings (early crow but very likely)
Eli Templeton ( early crow but likely)
Jimmy Webster
Josh Saunders

Category 2 ( Too early to tell or question mark)

Brodie Murdoch
Arryn Siposs
Josh Bruce
Luke Delaney
Spencer White
Tommy Lee
Daniel Markworth
Billy Longer

Markworth is category one, he could be the classiest of the whole lot

Not trying to be negative but how many out of that list can we REALISTICALLY expect to be still on the list in 2019?

That's great to know, have not seen either so cannot comment.
I forgot Seb Ross, another one for category 2 who is raising concerns.
Lack of genuine run ( Speed & endurance) is apparently a major concern.

I expect all in Category 1 to be there in 2019 alongside Jack Stevens although that's a long way away.
That is 6 years away including this year, that's a lifetime in AFL.

Who can tell but Id happily back all but Sipposs. I still believe he still may make a fist of it.

I like Curren, but I think the jury is still out.

Hope you're right, but reckon 60% retention is a more realistic target,

You may be right, 2019 is a long way away.
Category 1 players are looking strong at this stage to make it though.

Murdoch is supposedly injured but not on our official list for some reason according to big footy. Could be anything. Lee looks pretty solid so far to me. his body is holding him back but did well last year.

Lee is no great physical specimen but if he can get some power & strength in his body the boy can play.

Lee will be a very good player, he's had a very limited pre-season and is building. He's 194 and 91kgs (can go to 95kgs), is the best kick for goal we have and can hold marks. The only thing that can hold him back is his body. Category 1 - no doubt.

Can someone at the club please explain whats happened to Brodie? Our media transparency has been first class this year but the cloud around Brodie is becoming a bigger mystery!

according to dermot brereton, we only have six players with star talent .......including two that had not played at the time he made his comments......spencer white and jack billings were those two....

...so i guess he is cat 1.....specer, that is...

I was starting to wonder exactly the same thing...not on the injury list, no mention in the VFL wrap of saints listed players... Hope he is back pretty soon, because he showed some good promise in his limited exposure last year!!

Any reason why he would not be on the official injury list if he's injured? It's either very unprofessional or suspicious.

Score one for unprofessional. They did the same with Dempster a few years ago. It's just stupid.

Longer and Bruce can't be in that group they haven't played a senior game yet.
