Re: Changes?
Channel7 reporting armo has a sore knee and is doubtful. We really cannot take a trick at the moment

Re: Changes?
I would be tempted to do the following.
Billings out for Monty.
Webster if he is injured out for Lenny otherwise probably Geary as he looked injured as well.
If Armo misses as well we need another inside mid Ross didn't play and we would need to elevate Mav.
Hopefully only one of Webster, Armo and Geary are injured.
Roberton out for Bruce we need an extra big defender and if Fisher is not ready Bruce has to be the one. Gwilt cannot be used on Patton or Cameron.
I think Maister keeps his place because neither White or Lee are ready and Markworth not quite big enough.

Re: Changes?
From what I've heard Armo should be ok. Shins had hamstring tightness and apart from the usual soreness of all players watch out GWS. Remember we are tapering from a very hard pre season training regime.

Re: Changes?
Jack Billings is the interesting one from last night. Only played 1/4 and load being managed very carefully. I suspect he will be the sub again next week !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
Re: Changes?
The problem though with being a weekly sub is that he'll lose match fitness. Sub must be a temporary position.Eastern wrote:Jack Billings is the interesting one from last night. Only played 1/4 and load being managed very carefully. I suspect he will be the sub again next week !!

Re: Changes?
Agreed.. and you can see why we have a few problems up forward when there isnt anyone (exclsuing Reiwoldt of course) head and shoulders better than Maister right nowCon Gorozidis wrote:In: Hayes Montagna
Out: Webster (inj) Billings
(Savage on notice and Markworth ready to come into the side)
I think Maister can only be replaced by Lee for structure reasons and Lees form doesn't warrant selection.
The alternative is bring in Longer and play Stanley as a permanent fwd but I don't think that will work.
So Maister stays in.

Re: Changes?
Are you serious? Simpkin hasn't played a descent game in over 2 years Roberton did quite well. I'd rather Roberton have a 'shocker' every day of the week over what Simpkin has served up lately.lefty wrote:Maister - Lee
Billings - Lenny
Webster (injured?, if not he keeps his spot and someone else must make way for Monty) - Montagna
Roberton and Savage get a lucky break, but both had shockers, if there's another repeat from Roberton, I'd play Simpkin instead.
Re: Changes?
Positions needing to be looked at
gears and savage struggled in the midfield. Should make way for lenny and joey. Would not be upset if billings got one more game as the sub then rested for the trip to perth.
If chips is not back I would look at either bruce or simpkin to help with the tall forwards.
Armo is a worry, same with webster.
If markworth is fit enough could he play third tall and we use Stanley more as a second forward against a undermanned GWS backline??

I'm with you, but some on here gave him votes.Solar wrote:Positions needing to be looked at

One actually gave him top billing in their votes!
Re: Changes?
I didn't put Armo in my votes...
However I thought considering he was heavily tagged, he gave a stuff.
This round showed us two scenarios when your tagged, he still showed guts, used his body, won contested ball.

Re: Changes?
Only guess but I would think Lenny Joey Bruce Markworth (sub) in. Webster ( inj ) Billings Templeton Geary (inj)
Think they will rotate young players weekly and Gws have taller forward line.
Longer gets full game Sandy so is ready for Eagles - 3 Talls.
