How times have changed

Post: # 1441786Post 3rd generation saint »

If we had won against Melbourne like that 3 seasons ago, round 1, this forum would be in meltdown about how bad we played, and how we could only beat Melbourne by 17 points, not to mention only kick 10 goals etc etc.
But, now, we will take any win we can get this season, and I am happy with our game tonight.
To see the bright future with Dunstan, Billings, Eli, Saunders, Wright, Hickey and so on.
It wasn't pretty to watch, neither was 3 years ago, but it was a lot more satisfying.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

3 seasons ago we didn't have 5 club debutants !

Time stops for no one
An old list has become a young list .

3 Years ago we were coming off back to back grand finals. This year is the first of a 4 year rebuilding plan.

We got a glimpse of the future tonight.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

We would have beaten no one else tonight IMO.
I reckon Melbourne will improve significantly with more structure and when they learn their new game plan, and I think they will finish higher than us...

I actually felt after last season, I don't know how you guys felt, I was really back behind the team after last season felt doom and gloom?

It was kids having a crack and I really felt like screaming a lot and supporting them...

It got my passion back for footy

You can listen to Bristle tell you Carlton are still a massive chance at 28 points down with two minutes to go, you can listen to him tell you all about Lorne, or you can watch a monkey on a pushbike...I know which I prefer...

Agree...you would think that they should get better than us sooner especially when they get their tall forwards back.

I suspect that might be our only win all year.
I'm going to demolish a slab .

Saints have a new coach and gameplan as well
lsst year we didn't have a coach, prez or CEO.

The ones in those positions were all muppets.

Big change this year it seems on 2 of those 3 fronts, have to wait and see re Finnis as he hasn't started yet.
