Won't be many there as Dees fans hate Etihad as much as Saints fans hate the G.
It's the battle of the desperados.

Before opening the post I was thinking around 25000 so about what everyone else was thinking, unless Dees fans drunk on the new hope jump on.

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

You're making it pretty obvious now buddy.
Anyway there were 42K at last night's game which is a very healthy sign and a normal big Friday night crowd unlike last week.
Maybe 25K is possible.

Re: Guess The Crowd: Struggling Saints vs Desperate Dees
I had a group of a somewhat senior group of Melbourne ladies who got on at Parliament.
From their conversation it was clear they weren't familiar as to how to travel to Etihad Stadium on the train or the stations they would travel through.
They must have travelled outside their comfort zone with expectation they would be watching a Melbourne victory.
Not so!

Re: Guess The Crowd: Struggling Saints vs Desperate Dees
I was a bit late to the game (missed the first two Dees goals, a blessing in relief) and what struck me was the massive queue for walk up tickets near gate 5 (I am assuming members weren't trying to get reserved seats after the game started). I'd bet Etihad under-catered on the gate staff. It was good to see a buzz of anticipation, but there were a few too many Saints supporters in that queue.
Hopefully the queue and the cracking result might supply further incentive to buy a bloody membership!
Then again, on the way out, the lights were out in the Dees merchandise and Membership tent, but the Saints tent and truck were lit up like a beautiful beacon, and taking all comers ...

there was also a large queue at gate 1 ticket box--- about 30 min before game time.SemperFidelis wrote:I was a bit late to the game (missed the first two Dees goals, a blessing in relief) and what struck me was the massive queue for walk up tickets near gate 5 (I am assuming members weren't trying to get reserved seats after the game started).
