"How this ‘spirit’ manifests itself will not be guided by ladder position or overall results, but rather specific statistical key performance indicators that can be measured on a quarter-by-quarter and week-by-week basis."

Anyone want to hazard a guess at what these indicators are?

I remember hearing Farren Ray interviewed last year and he mentioned (probably inadvertantly) the phrase "attack indicators" - I imagine the coach is referring to "defence indicators" - I'm interested in hearing what people think they are.

Here are mine:

3. Second and Third Efforts

I dont want to be a negative nelly - but I can remember Mark Neeld saying almost the identical thing at his first press conference for Melbourne.

I agree with this, but would also like to add Seb Ross and Jack Newnes have very solid back halves to the season, such that they would expect to enter, from next year, the Armitage/Steven coming-of-age phase; Stanley emerge as a genuine talent; Markworth show he is somethin' real special.

As silly as your first point sounds, I almost entirely agree with it. GWS and GCS should not receive a compensation pick this year (2014), and they both should be excluded from the first round of draft picks in 2015.
