It makes zero sense that we are playing the Bulldogs in Geelong, why, considering the fact we are playing Port at Alberton, why wouldnt we be playing this one at Whitten Oval or heaven forbid in Melbourne?

When followed by two interstate trips it is lip service to our supporters.
It's about running the NAB into the ground so the AFL can convince players the fans don't care. They think the dogs and saints won't complain because they consider us losers. It will show data that says the NAB only attracts tiny crowds and they can push for a 28 game season instead with ALFPA. Not offering any money for prize money and stuffing the play offs up is another cynical move.

They killed of state of origin which is as much about promotion into other markets as anything else. Play all stars in Darwin and Tassie, NSW in NSW etc. The SOO in league is always a high profile event and actually gets people like me watching league. We have some idiots in charge ATM. You would think they were trying to lose their dominance in national sporting profile.

The NAB is only on FOX I don't have it or want it and I'm not taking my kids to the pub and a wednesday won't be easy to see. The kids have got to see about 4 or 5 games last year and are losing interest in AFL. Soccer is the way forward as Demetriou kills our sport off. It gets that live games free to air builds profile. The NAB sells memberships, it gets the the saliva building for the next season etc. they need someone with vision soon or they will just rust away. They should be doing weeknight televised matches or something with one of the networks secondary channels or we will slowly lose what we have.

What a weird post. 28 game season. What are you about. Footy only on fox but kids now watch soccer that has a massive one game a week on FTA compared to 4 in the AFL. State of origin was dead the minute the national league worked. It doesnt work in NRL and thats why state of origin works. The NAB challenge is practice matches on TV. How was the soccer practice matches on TV?

Soccer push for free to air we try to sell anything off to pay we can. They want to extend the season for more pay tv. They think they are like an American sport or Premier league where they can sell their product and make fans come but at the same time trying to develop teams in states that currently have no interest and are not going to pay to watch it. That is an absolute balls up. You can close your mind if you want but poor decisions are being made by an AFL administration with a cynical grab for cash and no vision.

That is all made up crap and so biased based on nothing. Soccer pushed for FTA and got a whole one game because they couldnt get anymore and secondly wanted games on Fox because of the money they got. Yep the AFL season may eventually be increased but it will never be more than 24 unfortunately. Why would anyone complain if we got more proper games and lost a practice match series. Dont get that at all. Luckily the AFL do try and develop other states otherwise South Melbourne wouldnt exist in any form at all and we could be like the NRL. A game that gives token effort to being national. Its all about vision in the AFL but it seems you want no vision. You want a practice series and games only in Victoria, SA and WA.

By the way did you go to the Saints Sydney practice match last year?

Not true stevie. Our Mayor welcomes everyone :)

A picture is worth a thousand words!

Electing a "person" like that sums up the mentality down there perfectly.
The Paparazzi would have to be the lowest most unscrupulous profession on the planet.
And they honour one of them as their mayor.

A very good reason not to go there.

Have you or Madam Spaceman checked the garden bed outside your bedroom window for his footprints and lens cap?

Just for you loris :)

Darryn Lyons (born 19 August 1965) is a former paparazzo and, as of November 2013, an Australian politician, media personality and entrepreneur - he is most widely known for his media work in Britain. He was elected the 95th mayor of Geelong on 23 November 2013.

Fiancé is Elissa Friday:

The then-model accepted an invitation to lunch at the polo but, after the first date, their careers took them in different directions. Elissa starred in reality TV show Beauty and the Geek before giving up modelling and training as a chef, then moving on to academic studies. It was eight years before a chance meeting on Kensington High Street saw the couple hit it off again. "I got to know him and saw we are both strong characters but with a soft side," she says. "We just clicked."

Thanks for the info Dr Spacey................ sounds like it will be pantomime time at Geelong council meetings from now on.

Hope the circus routines can have some financial/social benefit for Geelong community....though IMHO the impact of such individuals will wear thin over a few years............... then I could be wrong......... I have been, maybe, once in my life     :P
