Re: New CEO
Really? Thought he was doing stuff with Cricket Australia. Would know a lot about the inner workings of the AFL, but hope he could raise our revenues as a first priority.

Re: New CEO
I thought he was incredibly unimpressive at the AFL.
I hope he can change my mind.

Re: New CEO
He improved during his tenure with the AFL and the contacts and IP he would bring to the club from that time would be invaluable. Lets hope he has the clubs long time future interest at heart rather than another stepping stone to take Dimwits job when he leaves.jaxons wrote:Will be Adrian Anderson.
SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!

I dont think coming to us would help that. He was in the system already and wasnt thought good enough to do that job. I dont think being our CEO will change it but it doesnt matter anyway. AD will be gone in a year IMO and one year with us wont change the AFL's mind.

Yeah I agree. He left because it was a step up or step out situation.
Although good - probably a number of unknown reasons why they thought not a good fit for AD's role.
Re: New CEO
sounds like common sense has prevailed RE Robson, which is the most pleasing aspect of the announcement
Anderson is a very very smart man. its hard to judge his performance at the AFL, he practically did the job with two hands tied behind his back. the AFL were never keen on actually finding drug cheats and were dragged kicking and screaming to sign up to the ASADA stuff by the feds
i'm mostly happy robson has been told no. when it comes to anderson i'm a bit meh and interested to see how he goes

Re: New CEO
He's a friend of a friend and supposedly a good guy. I have met him for about 5 minutes and he seemed a very personable person. He comes from a very high level organisation so brings a lot of respect from his time in the job at the top. A lot of the CEO role is about being a strong front man and he always handled the disasters well.
That said there were rumours he left because the AFL had been made aware of Essendon's supplements program and just told them to stop. The suggestions are AA was the man.

Re: New CEO
If this is true then it would absolutely rule out Grant Thomas having any further involvement with the club.

was he ever going to be officially involved with the club again?Life Long Saint wrote:If this is true then it would absolutely rule out Grant Thomas having any further involvement with the club.

Mixed feelings about monkey boy being our CEO.
It's a huge step down from his AFL role and maybe within his ability.

Re: New CEO
Whoever's name is thrown up there'll be some who have a problem with that person.
We need to get this sorted ASAP so personally I'd be rapt if they could just sign and announce AA and we can move on to the on field stuff.

Re: New CEO
Whilst he's obviously politically connected which should be good for us, he has zero experience in some of the key off-field areas we're deficient in - finding and managing sponsors, increasing membership and managing finances. He'll need good people below him to step up in these areas. Dillon is said to be good, but he's been around for a few years now during which we've been crap in these areas, so hope the issue was Nettlefold and not him.

step down? its the other way around IMO, its a massive step up!!!saintspremiers wrote:Mixed feelings about monkey boy being our CEO.
