Re: 2014 Anzac jumper
What are we wearing a white tie for? Black tie only for the Sainters.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Re: 2014 Anzac jumper
well I like it
http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/afl ... 6824058285MAORI ceremonial war canoe is central to the jumper St Kilda will wear in its Anzac Day match in Wellington this season.
Ten St Kilda players and several staffers arrived in Wellington yesterday as part of the AFL’s community camps program, and will today unveil the new guernsey at a ceremony at the Museum of New Zealand.
“I really like it; I think it pays respect the Maori tradition and it’s a powerful looking jumper that the boys will be proud to wear,’’ said St Kilda recruit Shane Savage, who was born in Auckland before coming to Victoria as a small child.
Designed by a team from Massey University, a couple of hours north of Wellington, the jumper seeks to explore the ‘‘shared waters of the two nations’ Anzac journey’’, and incorporates the waka taua (canoe), mangopare (hammerhead shark), the Tumatauenga (god of war) and Te Ika a Māui (the fish hook of Maui).
The Saints’ red, white and black are traditional Maori art colours.

Are you talking about the SainterK jumper? Because, if so, I like it too.Cairnsman wrote:I like it. Probably the best alternative to our traditional jumper I've seen in a while.

Re: 2014 Anzac jumper
Why can't we just wear our home jumper?
Is this apart of the deal or are we just doing it out of respect reasons? Or merchandise /sales?

Re: 2014 Anzac jumper
1. This is one rare instance of an alternative jumper with much of the strength of the original. I think it looks great. Will be proud of it.
2. Nothing against the sponsorship money, but I am sick to death of the LED yellow eveywhere. It will look awful on this jumper -- will stuff it up badly. Luckily Shane Savage has his arms crossed in the photo so you can't see it. Can't play the whole game with your arms crossed though.
3. Strokes of genius, SanterK and Dragit, for seeing the dickie-front t-shirts in it.
4. Also agree with last post -- why can't we just wear our home jumper? When will New Zealanders get to see what the St Kilda Football Club actually looks like?

Re: 2014 Anzac jumper
I think it looks fantastic and the Kiwis will love it. We are trying to get a following in NZ so why not wear something that will make them feel proud. We are not 'selling out' in any way.
Good job!

Re: 2014 Anzac jumper
Ive always been a who cares on the jumper because it changes so much so any jumper close to our colours is fine by me. Hope it sells heaps so we make some money. Must make sure you see the sponsors though. Very important for us.

Re: 2014 Anzac jumper
I couldn't agree more. Actually I wonder if the club should be looking to sell any free space to some of our minor sponsors at a heavily discounted rate. The rationale being that what's the point of having empty space on the jumper that is for unsigned major sponsors when you could sell that space and at least have some inward cash flow. Which begs the question, how much space is actually available on the jumpers at the moment?plugger66 wrote:Ive always been a who cares on the jumper because it changes so much so any jumper close to our colours is fine by me. Re: 2014 Anzac jumper
Haven't posted in a while (before the usual posters start whinging, I have been here moderating though), but this jumper just really needs comment.
It looks unfinished! A couple minutes on the computer and I think this is an improvement!
Uses the design the club are wanting to go with, tying in the NZ theme and our heritage.

Re: 2014 Anzac jumper
I really like the design.
Do they sew an Anzac type badge on it for the game though? Because it doesn't show anything to denote Anzac Day apart from the Kiwi link.
Just wondering is all

If they win in it, couldn't care less if it was a bow tie...if I was to be honest

I'm guessing a few on here would be happy to see them in just a bow tie and a pair of shorts.SainterK wrote:If they win in it, couldn't care less if it was a bow tie...if I was to be honest

Re: 2014 Anzac jumper
Bloody hell!
Stop messing with the jumper!!!
Our tri-panel is the best bloody design in the competition by so far it isn't even bloody funny. And it used to be unique!
Wake up! If we don't wear it..., then soon those no-idea-of-history-and-tradition-interstate-nonclub-supporters will think that our tri-panel jumper belongs to the bloody E-girls and the Wogans!
And get that bloody cross off the clash jumper too! (No, I haven't converted to the atheist religion, but the cross on our jumper always looks bloody crap.) And we still don't clash with anyone anyway, so we do not need a bloody clash jumper... and I don't care about what they do jumper-wise in that farcical four Russian-oligharch-franchises vs Arsenal noncompetition aka the EPbloodyL!
History and tradition mean something people! Those interstate AFL-bastard-child nonclubs don't have and never will have this! Even Eddy and his Skunks know that, and refuse to mess with their jail bars. Why are we so keen to let go of our heretage???????
Our colours and the our tri panel are meant to be sacrosanct!!! (Fume, fume, bloody fuming...!)
PS: If one really wants some tokin Maori motifs, hey, there's (meant to be at least) that huge white panel... running right slap bang down the centre of our jumper...
It's Dave, man. Will you open up? I got the stuff with me! -------Who?
