That's four out of fourteen, not a bad start: Black, Fletcher, Francis, Greene.
Quick clue: one of the others was a Brownlow winner.

Getting there! Robbie Neal was a surprise for me, and Dirty Harry Callaghan was a bit unexpected as well.kosifantutti wrote:Black, Fletcher, Francis, Greene, Wilson, Sheldon, Kourkoumelis, Russo, Callaghan, Marcou, Neal.....
Still missing three. Though one of them hasn't played for us yet so you could be forgiven for ignoring him.
Re: The ULTIMATE trivia post!!!
Correct. They're not too tricky really. A couple of other Brownlow winners in there.plugger66 wrote:Surely Williams is one.

Right. That was a bit easy. The other two are harder, no-one's going to get them without looking it up.Mr Magic wrote:With that clue, surely it's Savage?bergholt wrote:Getting there! I can't remember Robert "Scratcher" Neal ever being called Robbie. Are you confusing him with Robbie Neill the former Swan who played in the '97 Grand Final?bergholt wrote:Getting there! Yep, good point. Scratcher was obviously before my time - looks like he finished up in 87 which was my first year watching footy.kosifantutti wrote:I can't remember Robert "Scratcher" Neal ever being called Robbie. Re: The ULTIMATE trivia post!!!
Who is the longest last-named player ever for StKilda i.e. surname?
e.g. Dipierdomenico would be my guess for Hawthorn.

Yes well done mr six'oclock
It was McMaster-Smith on 13 (not sure if you count hyphens or 14 if you do).
And for purists who think hyphens are cheating it was Spiro and Greenshields next on 12.

I'm still waiting for Bergholt to tell us who were the other two Saints to have 30+ possessions against us.

Ah yes, actually I think there was only one left, I might have miscounted.kosifantutti wrote:I'm still waiting for Bergholt to tell us who were the other two Saints to have 30+ possessions against us.
Glenn Nugent
In Round 12, 1993 the Hawks beat us by 78 points. Nugent was the highest possession winner on the ground with 32 touches and he also kicked a couple of goals. But he missed out on any Brownlow votes. Paul Hudson got the three - 30 touches and 7 goals. Chris Langford got the two - presumably for holding Plugger to just 5.1. And the one vote went to big Lawrie Bingham - playing for us at that point - for his 18 touches and 19 hitouts.
Can't say I remember the game but safe to say it wasn't a classic. We had just three goalkickers: Lockett 5, Loewe 5, Devonport 1. Is that some sort of record?

I doubt it. We had none in a game in about 1898.
