Russell Holsmby has taken aim at some 'media' Journo's in the latest edition of inside football.

titled- "When it comes to the Saints everyone's a know-it- all."

and quoting Leonard Cohen's song ' Everybody Knows"


and as usual Crackers has some interesting snippetts. ( but praise for Richardson appointment)

on same page as the start of the article the IF journos mention thing s that surprise them- Russell mentions a multi platform ( radio, Tv, internet etc etc) person who is raking in around $800,000 per year

and clarifies thet it isn't an IF or SEN personality.

Pretty much my thoughts in regards to the media,but are we biased or not...

I find what happened to Watters a bit mystifying ,older players and supporters not happy ,would be interesting to know the actual guts of the sacking!

we read enough negative stuff about the saints, about time for a bit of balance the other way

Couldn't read it properly.....

- 2 to 3 months before he left there were "alarming" things from several inner club sources about the way he was interacting with people at all levels.
- The word "delusional" was a recurring description.
-Complaints to the AFL Coaches Association by assistants who claimed unfair treatment.
-By all accounts toxic, with Watters the common denominator.
-Jaymie Graham and Dean Laidley were Watters appointments, but in the end they couldn't work with Watters.
-5 to 10 other staff were considering their options.

Nothing particularly new, but a reinforcement of things that have come out. I hadn't heard the Coaches Association bit before. Also interesting that he says Caro has been largely accurate (albeit negative).

Great read.
Russell Holmesby is a fairly placid guy, so for him to come out guns blazing is refreshing
and demonstrates his anger over the way the Saints have been portrayed.

Not that placid. He used to stand at the back of the Animal Enclosure at Moorabbin and we had seats in the stand directly above him. One match my friend was criticising Alan Sidebottom. Holmesby lifted his arm up, grabbed my friend by the shirt and threatened to belt him if he didn't lay off Sidebottom. My friend was a bit shaken but we were all pissing ourselves. Otherwise he's a nice guy. Met him a few times.

Thanks very much for that - interesting read, and I suspect pretty close to the mark in how things actually are at the club compared to some of the hysterical bulltish we've been seeing over the last couple of months.
