Saints and Stones
Don't be surprised if a couple of the band get to the GWS game on the Saturday. Work is already underway for a marketing opportunity.
Re: Saints and Stones
Pretty pumped, mate!
Going to Adelaide and all the Melbourne shows!
Just need my tickets to the Melb gigs and I can relax...

The round 2 day game ?, hopefully the Stoned ones don't cause too much of a distraction.tony74 wrote:Don't be surprised if a couple of the band get to the GWS game on the Saturday. Work is already underway for a marketing opportunity.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Saints and Stones
I see a red door and I want red white and black
No colors anymore I want red white and black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
I see a line of cars and they're red white and black
With flowers and my love, both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a newborn baby it just happens ev'ryday
I look inside myself and see red white and black
I see my red door and it's red white and black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up when your red white and black

Just get a CEO preferably a good one and a large sponsorship deal please!

Re: Saints and Stones
Now, let's all be completely honest here - The Rolling Stones' last decent record was released in 1981. Mind you, that one was a far cry from matching their best material from the 60's.
Not interested in 70 year old grandads milking it for what it's worth. Not to mention, none of them couldn't give a flying duck about Australian Rules Football.

Re: Saints and Stones
I think that you've missed the point. This is not about what music Saints supporters like, this about the x million people that follow what Mick and keef do every day of the week. That could be a tasty little earner.Sainternist wrote:Now, let's all be completely honest here - The Rolling Stones' last decent record was released in 1981. Re: Saints and Stones
Haven't missed the point at all. I'm here for banter about the Saints, not old hack muscians. This is hardly St Kilda FC related and should be in General Form. Problem is there's already a thread about them there. On a side note, that effigy of wasted Eddie is as passe as the Stones. Any chance for a change of avatar, old boy?satchmo wrote:I think that you've missed the point. Re: Saints and Stones
I presume that the OP is due to the Saints trying make this happen, therefore it is Saints related. And of course opening threads is still optional.Sainternist wrote:Haven't missed the point at all. On your side note; I don't find it passe at all, but I might change it when we next beat them in a GF.
Would it help if a put a Saints scarf on him?

Re: Saints and Stones
The club is trying to make this happen? Didn't hear about it. Gudinski is promoting the tour, so I guess it seems plausible.satchmo wrote:

Have noticed you've had that damn avatar since after we lost GF2 to the Filth. Nothing good has happened to our club after that and nothing will, until you change it! You are jinxing our club with your avatar, Satch.

was thinking they haven't ageed well
but they are 72, 70, 70 next week and 66
will draw attention... and interest by being there.

The one they missed in 1997 was the "Ode to Matty Lappin" or better known as "Hey, you get off McLeod"stevie wrote:The Stones have re recorded a few hits to celebrate their link to the Saints...

Re: Saints and Stones
Sacrilege! I gather you refer to Tattoo You and admittedly the next two weren't great. Then Steel Wheels was decent, Voodoo Lounge brilliant (arguably better than Tattoo), Bridges To Babylon excellent and A Bigger Bang quite good. Don't listen to music critics who know nothing. There are many contemporary acts that would do well (if they could) to make an album as good as Voodoo Lounge or Bridges To Babylon.Sainternist wrote:Now, let's all be completely honest here - The Rolling Stones' last decent record was released in 1981. Their last good album was Goats Head Soup 40 years ago. A couple of good songs since, like Far Away Eyes and Start Me Up and that's about it.Moorabbin Man wrote:Sacrilege!
