Membership Packs
Just got my membership pack and was suprised to get another scarf.
Dont want to sound ungrateful, but why does the club outlay such expenses on such a frivilious piece of apparel considering if you are a member for the past 5 or so years you will have numerous useless scarves clogging up the wardrobe.
Surely these would be fine for new members, but I would think that the club would be looking for any way to cut costs. The costs for the scarves wouldn't be huge and considering the club has no worries about blowing half a mill on paying out the previous coach, I would suspect, it doesn't really matter that much.
More the obvious waste on something not many people wear. Maybe a yes/no to new scarfs on the membership renewal would be appropriate?
Oh and in my opinion the scarf is hideous. Like our horrible all white strip, the scarf is mostly white.

Re: Membership Packs
I agree with you joffa, however last year I remember some sort of uproar from a faction of fans because scarves weren't included and people had to pay...I preferred last year where we had the option to purchase the scarf... I got last years one because I liked the look of it... Don't really like the look of this one and could probably have done without... But we will see the same now with people like you and myself not really seeing the point of the scarf .... I have more saints scarves then I know what to do with.... Can't wait until the boss lets me build my "pool room" LOL
Now lives in Geelong...

i know a dees supporter who sewed them all together to make a throw rug to take to the footy......but then they have to play outdoors.....SunburySaint wrote:I. Can't wait until the boss lets me build my "pool room" LOL

Mine was a Platinum pack. Maybe it is only at that membership class.
Still it is a crap design
As for moaning Billy Crystal, wasn't a moan, just an observation. you sound like a tolerant type of person.

Re: Membership Packs
I think this is one of those instances where if common sense prevailed it wouldn't be an issue.
Surely the club could just have a tick box on the application form/page etc
Yes I would like my free scarf or No I wouldn't
easy

Re: Membership Packs
As stated in membership, email, letter, brochure, and online
Scarf is being given to those who
A) are on rollover plan
B) elect to be on roll over plan
I can see the aim, to encourage more to do rollover, cut down on delay of membership numbers rolling at the beginning of campaigns

Re: Membership Packs
Just to be different, I like getting a scarf each year. Yes I got one because I am on a rollover membership.
I liked this years scarf design too. Thanks SKFC.

Billy Crystal, I have been on holidays for a month, just spent two weeks in Vietnam on a great adventure and life is great. Not down at all, and you could not ever possibly upset me, an anonomous person on an internet forum never has that effect on me.

The club could ask the ladies in the coterie groups to do it, the ladies could work it around their media engagements...saintspremiers wrote:Why not have our years of membership embossed onto the scarves like what the Hawks do??

Re: Membership Packs
yeah got ours the other day
im over the scarf thing, it doesnt bother me if i get one or not tbh
we have that many now its not funny
theyre all shoved in a bag in a cupboard somewhere.
i will say that hte 500 coins i paid for in memberships was really just a 490 coin donation to the club
the stuff you get sent really REALLY is crap
and ive gone from being able to get 5 games in melbs down to two i think
not that we're going to get over for 5 games but blimey they are cutting costs in a serious manner.
i thought this years scarf design was one of the worst for a while
no matter, it wont be worn
just bring on some footy and f*** this cricket shite off

Agreed. I said it last year and I'll say it again: the last thing Australians need is more cheap crap from China.joffaboy wrote:Dont want to sound ungrateful, but why does the club outlay such expenses on such a frivilious piece of apparel considering if you are a member for the past 5 or so years you will have numerous useless scarves clogging up the wardrobe.
