Topped herself? I thought it was just an attempt?

Could be. My source was a mate at work who knew Stewie's broader family.

Someone better tell her. I think she had issues before the game, some bad issues, but pretty sure she is alive and well.

Yes, the word is she had issues and actually left a suicide note before the game then disappeared, so Stewie went into the game not knowing if she was alive or not, but she didn't actually take her life.

Equally depresing straight after each one imho, but the the hurt lingered longer in 2009.

In 1997 we were in with a show up til half time and it was my first GF attendance. The Crows midfield and ruck were thrashing us and our forward line was impotent after half time with a young Barry Hall the only threat. He should have been thrown into the centre after half time to get us some clearances. The signs were bad at 3/4 time (someone mentioned that we were in front at 3/4 time but that is incorrect).

In 2009 it was ours to win right up to the end and...I think I still feel crap when I think of what we missed out on and the fact that we were so dominant makes you feel like it was our best chance in a long time. 2010 was a surprise that nearly erased all the hurt...nearly

Totally agree with all of that.
We were in front at half time in '97, but I didn't fell we could win for whatever reason….

I was overseas in 1997 and flew back for the prelim and GF, then left Melbourne again on the Monday after, so it was almost like it had all been a dream. In 2009, however, we dominated all year and should have won the game, so I'm more bitter about that loss. I'll be bitter until we win one.
