Re: Saints Appoint David Teague
Teague has a good reputation. The "footy insiders" will know him best. I wonder whether this appointment was on the go before Richardson's appointment, or was made by him after his arrival? In any case, Teague would not be appointed unless the Coach gave his approval.

Re: Saints Appoint David Teague
Very positive reports on the job he did over here with the Eagles. He was their back line coach. He left for family reasons with the birth of their first (?) child late last year.
A very good appointment regardless of whether it is supposedly too late to find good assistant coaches.
Well done Saints

I am still hurting from 71;
my gut churns thinking of 97;
2009 was agony,
2010a was a pleasure to watch only to be devastated by 2010 b.
It hurts barracking for the Saints

Re: Saints Appoint David Teague
Another good,honest, hard working footballer who appears to have some coaching/teaching talent. Also did a great job with alot of youngsters at the Northern Bullants after retiring. An excellent choice.

Re: Saints Appoint David Teague
Very pleased with Teague's appointment - had a good rep when assistant coach at WCE. Think he left for family reasons, maybe even prior to the arrival of Simpson.
Saints article also states....."This appointment comes as Saints Player Academy Manager, Tony Micale advised the Club that he would like to return home to Perth at the end of this year."

Very pleased with his appointment.
Had some personal dealings with him when I was doing some work commentating on the VFL.
Fantastic footy brain, great with developing youth, and a top bloke to boot.
Well done Saints.

Another appointment, how long will this one last....
He sounds like he knows his stuff, hope he works out well..
I like all this change,especially if it's successful sometime in the future.

Re: Saints Appoint David Teague
Fantastic appointment, very highly regarded by all who know him.
He was a player who gave his absolute all and earned the respect of his team mates and fans despite his limited ability, a bloke who should have struggled to get a game in the VFL managed to win a best and fairest in the AFL. Very good communicator and teacher.
Expect that he will one day be an AFL coach...

Re: Saints Appoint David Teague
I certainly hope he is a much much much better coach than he was a player

Re: Saints Appoint David Teague
Was Teague coaching at Carlton when Richardson was there? Speaking of which, nobody has commented on Richardson's time at the Blues. I seem to remember that he was in charge of Devlopment / The VFL team and his relationship with Pagan was so bad that not only did they not speak to each other, but they had to move Richo's office to the other side of Optus Oval. Probably says more about Pagan than Richo, and actually says the Blues must have valued him to keep him on, but it was a pretty wierd situation. Anyone know anyhing about this?
