Draft broadcast -- when does it start?
Could some kind person tell me when the radio broadcasts start, what time the actual draft starts, or is announced, or whatever artificial stage managing they are serving up to us?
I'm meant to be in a meeting, but I'm aiming to sneak out to catch the first round.
How long will it take? (Have to get my timing strategy right here.)

7pm on fox footy. Press red for all picks. Not one for the IQ box as you'll miss picks 18 & 19 most likely as they'll be flogging off still over pick 1
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

That's 2am tonight local time. Guess I won't be listening. Oh well.

I'm testing out my capture camera and hopefully I should be able to stream the entire draft tonight. Stay tuned!

First time I've bought tickets to a live show in years, and it had to be tonight.

What a circus the AFL have made this out to be. What was wrong with how they did a few years ago?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

So I am not the only person who thinks Fox Footy's coverage of the draft in past years has been appalling.saintspremiers wrote:7pm on fox footy. Press red for all picks. Not one for the IQ box as you'll miss picks 18 & 19 most likely as they'll be flogging off still over pick 1
A show that is run by the comentators for the comentators, instead of providing the audience with what they want - who got picked by whom and especially who got picked by my club.
The ultimate in insiders self indulgence.
Maybe if they had 19 multi channels one for the draft and one for interviews for each club.
I will use the draft tracker on the AFL website.

Re: Draft broadcast -- when does it start?
Based on past years they will have a secret meeting at which the top ten draft picks are made.
Then they go live and the top 10 are called in reverse order until they get to No1.
Then a big pause.
More pause
More pause
Then the remainder of the first round picks.
But Fox Footy will still be ignoring that.
They will be still trying to get Tom Boyd to tell them how excited he is to be forced to leave Melbourne for the cess pit that is Western Sydney.

Re: Draft broadcast -- when does it start?
We end up drafting 3 unproven players, they are all rapt to be drafted & part of our great club... They all have outstanding potential, highly skilled, inside/outside, great hands, fast and solid characters.kosifantutti wrote:First time I've bought tickets to a live show in years, and it had to be tonight.

What was wrong with having it on a Saturday?

It's not 'outstanding potential' Dragit, you have to say 'huge upside'.dragit wrote:We end up drafting 3 unproven players, they are all rapt to be drafted & part of our great club... Don't forget they'll be surprised those players were still available at those picks, thought they would have gone earlier...blah....blah...blahdragit wrote:We end up drafting 3 unproven players, they are all rapt to be drafted & part of our great club...
