A few years ago, there was a song by Natasha Bedingfield called "Unwritten".
It was played at a relative's primary school end-of-year; the students were going to secondary school the following year.
Really resonated with me in a big way. The lyrics say that your life from this day on,
is empty pages- "unwritten" and you are going to write your story your way,
your fate is in your hands.
Very uplifting music and tone.
Richo has no baggage, unlike other contenders who have been senior coaches before.
With history. Reputations.
He has been the #2, now he has the main gig.
The past chapters of his life's book are there, setting him up for this step.
His future is in his hands, and he will write the next chapters himself,
not guided or mentored by Hinckley, or Eade, or Ratten.
This is his story from now on.
I believe, as the panel do, that his character and personality will write the next chapters boldly and proudly, with the whole team embracing the new future.
