He can't play for sandringham either. That's where he was playing when caught. The Vfl is still a professional competitionevertonfc wrote:Best case scenario is that he plays for Sandringham for the next 12 months, guns it, and we re-draft him.
No issues for me.

Re: Ahmed delisted
I wonder how the financials will work… surely we are not paying him out for the next 2 years 3-400 K?
I would also imagine that ASADA would not let a player receive their future wages if banned?

Saad has few grounds to avoid the full two-year ban because he had attended AFL anti-drug seminars, admits taking the substance, and used it to enhance his performance by taking it on match day. The view of ASADA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport is that if you take a substance on match day with a performance-enhancing benefit, you get a two-year ban."Armoooo wrote:s*** luck, stupid mistake by a seemingly intelligent guy.
Definitely deserves a ban, hopefully we'll get some leniency through his ignorance.
Can't see where he was unlucky or made a stupid mistake unless he drank it thinking it was cordial.
The irony of the address of 'Viking Protein' is not lost on me:

Re: Ahmed delisted
I'd like to thank Saad for his contribution to the footy club.
Forward pocket is a tough gig.
He certainly gave us some excitement and memorable moments and was instrumental in some of our wins vs Carlton in 2012 and Brisbane at the gabba in 2012 come to mind.
All the best with the future.

Re: Ahmed delisted
better for saad to be delisted now.. may get some of his contract paid out...
If he is on the list but banned.. presumably he could not get paid...

Re: Ahmed delisted
Why is this taking so long?
What new evidence are they waiting for?
Why can't they let this young man know his future?
What are they doing?
Make a decision you imbeciles!

.”Saad said he was warmed by the embrace he had received from the Saints.
“The club have been very supportive of me from day one. The players, the staff and the coaches have all given me support and called me pretty much every day to make sure I’m OK and most importantly make sure that my welfare and actual health is fine,” he said.
“I definitely don’t feel that I’ve been delisted and let go by any means. The club has been supportive and that is something that we did speak about and it was a plan to go forward and help out the club as well as help me out.”
The 24-year-old said showing up to Linen House Centre had helped give him a sense of normal in a challenging time.
“It is really important because that is what I love. We have done that for the last two years and there is nothing I enjoy more than coming to the club and seeing the boys,” Saad said.
“It really does take my mind of everything and it is kind of an outlet. It doesn’t matter if I’m delisted or not because to me I’m still part of the club

Going to have a torrid time getting back, I suppose.
