Strategy or dumb luck

Post: # 1417790Post andrewg »

Getting Richardson as coach so late in the year is fantastic!
This means all his knowledge of the draft prospects will come with him which combined with our knowledge put us in a powerful position having three excellent picks. Coming from a team that got Wingard at 5 this can only be good for us. Might explain Ports president David Kocks reaction.
Strategy by the saints or just dumb luck????

If you are right it's luck by piss poor management.

Watters should've been sacked months ago. End of story.

Just good to see the club being aggressive. Gives me hope.
About time we started being bullish. This and our drafting has made me look forward to the season

Drafting? The draft hasn't been held yet, has it? Did I miss something?

Luck does not exist in the St Kilda vocabulary

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

But arguably the most pressing issue for the Power now is the intimate knowledge of the club's draft strategy Richardson takes to St Kilda.

Just a week from the NAB AFL Draft, both Richardson and the Saints' interim CEO Michael Nettlefold have offered Thomas and the Power their word that secret information wouldn't be divulged.

"The draft is a real issue. All that we could do is, I spoke to their CEO, I spoke to Alan, they gave me their word that there would be no sharing of information regarding Port Adelaide's list priorities," Thomas said.

"I can't do any better than that; you have to take these guys on face value and we will.

"I know them both well, they have given me their word in good faith, that's the best we can do."

Seems like we won't be getting "inside information". Not sure how that'd work though, if Richo is involved in recruiting the draftees.
