Magnificent said :
I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was all (at least unofficially) agreed to before watters was given the news.

I just hope netters isn't handling the contract negotiations.
You would hope so on both counts, but I don't think that we are that smart! We have a Board Member who would have a few clues on Contracts - Jack Rush - QC

Tony Abbott is already senior coach in an organisation that is even more of an embarrassment than St Kilda FC, and Peter Costello was sacked from that role years ago...

Id say Williams is preferred but having just been through a large a tender process myself it is surprising what does come up in evaluations and interviews...
We had a preferred candidate at the start and they ended up getting it in the end- but id say sometimes views are changed in the process.
If Williams interviews poorly or someone flags some risks on him - he wont get the job.
If he interviews well - he will get it.
I dont agree with the conspiracy theorists.

What is the deal with this 'Senior Assistant' rubbish?

Much like flooding and 'Saints Footy', it reeks of some random phrase that doesn't really explain anything

Ratten is at Hawthorn

Harvey is at Collingwood

Laidley is at Carlton

.................

It's the latest fad to hit the AFL scene and has been around for a few years now. Are you admitting to NOT being up with the times? !!

Sunday's paper said Choco wanted $600K+ to take on the coaching role at the AFL misfits, i wonder if he gets it.

McPhee and Kingsley would only cost half that, especially in their first year in the job.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

And they would provide the club with more excuses. Get Choco and at least the excuse of the coach having no experience is gone.

$600K sounds about right for Choco. It sounds like we were paying Watters around $500K !!

That is a bigger worry than 600k for Williams!

Does any one else think the club should just announce the coach and stop this charade? The longer the interview process goes the worse it looks IMO...
