Re: What Are The Odds?
Im hoping by on the boil you mean Williams is about to be announced as new coach. Is exactly what Saints need and the fact hes got a bit of my money on him has only a passing influence,,,,,,maybe betting is suspended because the bookies have realised they are about to take a hiding on the outcome ? to tap your punting past- if a large online bookie has taken my $$ for this wager, are there any circumstances under which my bet can be cancelled/voided/not recognised ??? I dont have any association with anyone at the club, am a long time member and saintsational voyeur ......so no inside info unless you count the elusive yet Delphic jaxons........

Re: What Are The Odds?
Glad I got on Choco at $2.75... Pity I only had $50 in the Centrebet account!
Re: What Are The Odds?
If you have a bet on, and betting is suspended 2 things may happen.
You are paid out at the odds of your original bet if the betting isnt called null and void, then if its the latteryour bet is returned.
The suspended betting at this stage to me only means no more bets can be laid.
I have a feeling the cats been let out of the bag and the information is gatthering momentum and judging by Williams big price drop some one is in the know about him or another runner.
With the AFL you can only win $500, i have never taken any of these exotic bets and havent placed any sort of bet for many years, not since i cleaned up big on Empire Rose in the Mckinnon Stakes in 1988. She won the Melbourne Cup the following Tuesday where i again placed a large amount on her to win and she did. This was the only time i ever had bet on the Melbourne Cup (dont bet on exotic races) and it was more a sentimental bet not a knowledge one, this led me to give away punting, as i was starting to weaken in my judgement and my ice cold attitude toward the punt.

Re: What Are The Odds?
only win $500 - ok well I have him to win $350 plus the stake so thats ok.( I think - I assume if the return is over 500 but the win is under you are ok ? )
Agree with you melbourne cup, although I have backed Red Cadeux each way the last 3 years and although not got the biscuits still made some nice returns. it is a mugs game unless you are a pro, but I still prefer a small punt on the horsies or footy than feeding cash into a slot machine ....thats my idea of complete lunacy ! ice cold attitude ...thats what the Saints need right now ......( f*****g red cadeux ...I so love and hate that nag ! )

Re: What Are The Odds?
I assume they mean if the odds are 2-1 and you plonk $250, you get the $500 plus your stake.
If your going to bet each way which i never do, you place 4x the stake on the place as you did on the win

Re: What Are The Odds?
I still wouldnt be laying my hard earned on Choc just now.
1: there is no value in the bet
2: I dont beleive anyone really knowes
3: Banga has been firm all through the betting
I believe its a 2 horse race with Choc the odds on fav with no value in the bet, so no bet.
I also believe no decision has been made.

If he was unbackable he would be $1.04. Tread very carefully. Bookies invariably don't lose.

Re: What Are The Odds?
What if Williams has a change of heart and stays at Richmond. Is there a market for that?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
Re: What Are The Odds?
I wouldnt put money on him, there is no value in it, so that to me is unbackabletony74 wrote:If he was unbackable he would be $1.04. Tread very carefully. Bookies invariably don't lose.

Re: What Are The Odds?
Lucky I got on Chocco at 2.35!
When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

Yeah.
Got on Kingsley at 11 to hedge my bets.
Not sure how smart that was betting on two when only one can win - bit I did it anyways.
