P.S. A tad ordinary to use Aspergers. Read Michael Lewis's (he was the "Moneyball" author) book on the GFC, "The Big Short". Brilliant account of the fella who got the impending doom more right than anyone. He'd achieved high status as a surgeon very young, but became fascinated with numbers, so went into the finance caper.

He had Aspergers.

I reckon those who relate to Aspergers sufferers might same the same thing about the line of argument, Eastern.

Blimey, I butchered the language in that response...."say the same thing, not "same the same thing". I blame the Thursday Sippers. Mind you, that's a cop out - I'm more coherent at 2 a.m. after 8 hours in a pub.

I understand that in our flawed Westminster legal system, the magistrate is simply a referee.
In France, they take a far more active role, in which they are empowered to ask more questions than under our system.
If the "aspergers" is blindly accepted by the magistrate, that will reduce the penalty.
If the magistrate could make the defence prove the condition by calling for an independent psychological analysis, then he could prove the defence is lying.
Defence gets away with far too much lying, under our Westminster system.

Overly simplistic.

In our adversarial system, the prosecution will take that role.

Do you really think it was that easy to get around the system?

And even if he was conclusively found to have Aspergers, that doesn't mean it will be considered significant.
