Re: Tigers might Block Williams Appointment.
This is the problem with the soap opera world football journalism has become.
Facts detailed:
St Kilda have notified Richmond they wish to approach Mark Williams regarding their now vacant senior coaching position
Brett Ratten has advised Hawthorn, St Klilda have not approached him about their vacacnt senior coaching position. (yet??)
Brendan Gale says he hopes St Kilda respects the fact Mark Williams is contracted.
Headline:
Tigers might block Williams Appointment
What I don't understand, is if they were keen to block it, wouldn't you just block the interview??

If there was any doubt as to Caro's agenda with the Saints, I think it's pretty plain to see now.
It was a pretty silly piece of journalism on her part, when in all fairness I think she's a better journo than that.
I'd find it pretty hard now to believe anything else she writes about us at this particular stage of our journey.

I agree that it was one of her poorer pieces, but I think this one was more about Richmond than St Kilda. It's just that it gave her the opportunity to give us a whack on the way !!Johnny Favier wrote:If there was any doubt as to Caro's agenda with the Saints, I think it's pretty plain to see now.

One would then assume that Hardwick was not contracted at Hawthorn when appointed senior coach of Richmond.bozza1980 wrote:Brendan Gale says he hopes St Kilda respects the fact Mark Williams is contracted.

Re: Tigers might Block Williams Appointment.
Richmond will not be at all happy, but they will not be able to hold him from a No. 1 Coaching role - there is too much precedent in the AFL to do so. Forget the legal technicalities/possibilities.

Re: Tigers might Block Williams Appointment.
The Tigers would be mad to block Choco's appointment - if he wins the job ??? How would they attract top calibre assistant coaches in the future if that is their M.O ? They won't do it.

Re: Tigers might Block Williams Appointment.
As it everyone has said It is a well established custom in the afl that clubs allow assustants to interview for and accept senior jobs in the relatively rare ocassion they become available.

Caro's a hypocrite. A while ago she was pushing Williams as the man for the coaching job at Melbourne. Now she's suggesting the Toigs hold firm because its November, not September?
Go figure?
