Re: De Listings Today
Feel bad for Jackson but after 3 years and bringing in Delaney and Bruce the writing was on the wall. Playing key defense is never easy especially when you're coping a pasting and even worse if that's on debut and then getting hurt didn't do him any favors either.
I'd still have given him maybe another year and cut TDL or Milera but that obviously wasn't on the cards. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up

Re: De Listings Today
Billings nowhere near big or strong enough yet to paly AFL footy. Will play one maybe two games tops next year.Sobraz wrote:So if we do get lucky and Boyd slips to our first pick, then we are able to de-list Riewoldt as he'll be surplus?Buckets wrote:Supposedly we can have over the required amount until draft, then we must make changes....I think?
In all seriousness, if we get Billings who i touted as a high half forward/future mid, surely TDL would go, as that forward flank is the only possie he can slightly play...

Watters gone surely means his buddy TDL and possibly Maister are out the door as well. Maybe even Milera

If curren isn't upgraded, i would not blame him for walking...
unless the club is able to upgrade him in while saad is on suspension? i know its not LTI but maybe there is scope for this in the rules?

For our last spot, it looks like the club is waiting to see what happens to Saad.

Re: De Listings Today
Reading the list i posted above, that's 7 off and 5 on, which leaves us with 2 spots to fill BUT we have 3 picks in the top 20 of the upcoming draft.borderbarry wrote:For our last spot, it looks like the club is waiting to see what happens to Saad.
Did we have a full list to start with, can we still create an extra list vacancy prior to the draft if we need it ?

I don't understand why people were concerned about Curren anyway, as I'm pretty sure he signed a two year contract back in September didn't he?

Re: De Listings Today
Watters apparently took control of match selection but I believe the list management is Pelchen and Bains. Jackson, Curren, Shenton and Ledger could all be fairly pissed off at their handling as we had plenty of LTI upgrades available and Jackson and Shents got about a quarter before their papers were stamped. Why upgrade them at all if that was it. He must have really thought he was able to sum up a player in a few minutes.

i think it was a little rough for Watters to throw him in the deep end but that's how it goes sometimes..Junction Oval wrote:Somebody had to go and unfortunately, Jackson was just not up to it, especially with our new "ins." His match against North was an embarrassment, but not all his fault. AFL is a tough gig these days.

Sorry but he's not AFL standard. Wish he was. Him and Lever would make good bookends in the Southern League.SMS wrote:ferguson?? He was doing awesome!!

Re: De Listings Today
Jackson Ferguson was a rookie type B being a former NSW scholarship player.
If the rules haven't changed recently then a rookie is allowed a maximum 3 years on the rookie list without facing the National Draft.
The only way St Kilda could retain Ferguson would be to move him to the senior list (not a temporary promotion as occurred during this year).
He has now been delisted from the rookie list, he can nominate for the National Draft and Rookie drafts.
If not taken by another club he can still be rookied again by St Kilda as a rookie type A.
That is if the club preferes him to adding someone new to the rookie list.
At present there are 3 slots available on the senior list for draft picks 3, 18 & 19 but I thought Thomas Curren was also a third year rookie type A in need of a move to the senior list.
Promoting Curren would require another delisting and then a pre season draft pick would require another.
With Watters gone his favourite Trent Dennis-Lane will be looking for more neck armour than one more year left on his contract.
Older players with only a few years left in them like Schneider and Jones will be looking for extra armour as well because of the club's rebuild policy.
They may still be in the best 22 but would be clogging postions that could be used to develop younger players.

Re: De Listings Today
List Lodgement Number 2 is on November 14th, dead line = 2.00pm.
That one could be very interesting, at least one and possibly 2 current players will need to be cut, especially if Jolly is still being considered.
