These odds were put up as a general indicator of what the overall betting public/public and the bookmakers are thinking, its an indicator only, not a go out and have a bet thread. Bookmakers are pretty astute with their odds and dont give away money lightly, so their indicators may give us some idea as to whats going on in our coaching world. Its not a thread about betting its a thread about who our next coach may be, you never know what the bookies might hear before the general public.
Only a joke Joyce.............. sorry no offence to you slider........... my neighbour is a bookmaker and I have a fair idea of how they operate and who they deal with with in this world in order to get their information.
Nah wasnt taking offence Loris, not on here ever, and your right about bookies and info

I was a pro punter for 15yrs, these days i dont touch it, made my money and ran. A guy by the name of Don Scott taught me the ropes from and early age, (no not Don Scott the footballer heaven forbid)

Hint hint anyone on the punt... only bet on open handicaps and welters, and dont listen to coat pullers :D

Now back to the chase 8-)

If I can recall correctly.................... the Hawks D Scott (after he finished with footy) would have only taught you the ropes on dressage and polo

Lets not go there with Harvey unless he is 100% the best person for the job.
banger, way way better option than the four dipsticks you mention.three failed coaches, and one about to fail...give figjam two years tops.....then he will be just another sacked coach....banger is not a member of that club....

Although I can't speak for Ratten,Voss or Buckley personally I can however for Primus. He is not a dipstick.
I would very much doubt the other three are either.
I'm not sure what level you have risen to in life but to be an AFL coach you're not likely to be a dipstick.
All credit to you if these people are far beneath you.

get your point.....i was only referring to them failing as coaches and getting the boot.....

i'm more than satisfied with the positions i held in my working life ..and the ones i hold at the moment...but thanks for your concerns....

..i should not have used that term either...i have met voss and he was very kind to my youngest......nice bloke.....sure the others are too.....

The Don Scott i knew had the Legal Eagles Syndicate, not the Handbags Dressage Syndicate.

Everyone thinks the punt is place a bet, make a fortune, kick back and drink good grog. I got Sundays off, then it was hit the forms, go to the track talk to people, and look for value on raceday, and expect along run of outs that will happen, and have nerves of steel.

Eventually it wears you down

Must say, I don't like master & apprentice concept much...

The Malthouse / Buckley plan was a debacle.

The Roos Melbourne plan looks fraught also.

I reckon if Williams gets another head coach gig he is going to want to hold onto it, he sounds desperate to coach... unlikely he'll want to hand over the reins in 3 years when the team is just coming good.

I would like Banger to have a crack (has nothing to do with club legends etc) and if the club feels he needs it then have Choco looking over his shoulder for a season.

I would of thought they were being generous with Richardson? Would of thought he'd be in the top 3 candidates

Would Richardson bother even applying? He's been turned down by us once before so he might not even be in the mix. I wouldn't if I were him.

How can Choco still be out as far as $2.35 ?

I've even heard the call "white hot" in the media in reference to him becoming our coach.

Maybe with the cup carnival in full swing betting $$$ is hugely diverted away from a boutique footy market in the off season?

Maybe the books are leaving the odds out there on Choc to gobble up the uninformed $$$ ???

They do it on the Gees all the time, leave a dead cert at good odds i:e $2.35 only to see it rattled by a value bet at $4-$6

Not saying it will happen and i know squat about what the clubs up to, but you have to read the bookies and what they are up to.

Eskander has suspended betting too.

Okay, it's been a long day. Our ChocoforCoachSubCommittee is apparently meeting.

Where are our insiders now? Tony74, Jaxons, anyone else … anything???
