Interview should be done over lunch.

Start off with a couple of jars before a parma and fries.

2 or 3 bottles of red...

followed by about half a dozen pots.

then a couple of dark ales to finish.

No to Choco for me. We have had no joy with ex-premiership coaches in the past, Jewell, Jesalenko, Blight. Harvs for me. He has done well enough to be promoted to Senior Assistant Coach at the pies. I cant think of another Senior Assistant coach who has yet to have had senior coaching experience.

[quote="Dave McNamara"]Radio just announced that Andrew Thompson and the Pelican are on the initial coach finding committee...?

Bloody hell!

Weren't they on the last one that so monumentally stuffed up?

Steady on - do you know the HR success rate in hiring senior managers ? I assume the Saints went through all due processes in appointing Scott - simple fact is that for many reasons no matter how thorough you are the wrong selection is made. Happens everyday of the year in business.

Brad & Pia Miller

First question from any prospective coach, what is the reporting relationship between the Head of Football and the Senior Coach?

Liam Pickering has just suggested we get Danny Frawley as coach.

He's experienced, has great footy knowledge, knows St.Kilda, club legend etc.
He says we should get Frawley, with Harvey as assistant.
Interesting.

No to Choco. If Fraser Gehrig had kicked two more goals during that season Choco would not be a premiership coach and Grant Thomas would be.

No to spud.
I reckon Voss on his 2nd try may have been bought back to earth with his runaway ego and therefore might be very good next time around.

I would not mind Choco. I have a soft spot for him. Eccentric but seems like a cool bloke.

Liam Pickering must freely hand out the booze to the clubs too. Anyone who can be that dumb and get Franklin a ten year contract must be doing something to help him. Spud was possibly the worst coach ever. If people weren't already laughing at us that would have them falling off their chairs.

Leigh Tudor or Choc or both.

Hi dS, yeah fair point.

My point though is that given the stuff the case made out against Cuddles
(for example viewtopic.php?f=1&t=83778#p1412877)
... how did they get it sooooooooooooooooooooo wrong???

I do not want the same people, following the same weasel-worded coporate-speak Human Resources BS protocols, to be appointing our next coach.
(From my experience, HR tends to attract the least competent types... not an absolute observation, but pretty generally accurate.)

If Cuddles was really that bad, how could they have failed to pick up at least some of his 'red flags'??? Beggars belief!
Are none of them Scorps...? :?

Or, maybe Cuddles isn't that bad...? Maybe Cuddle's has been FU'd...?

Way too many conflicting claims and statments... including at El Pres's press conference at the House of Cards...

I don't know which is the true story, but I'm not ruling out either possibility just yet.

It's Dave, man. Will you open up? I got the stuff with me! -------Who?
Dave, man. Open up ------------------------------------------ -----Dave???
Yeah, Dave. ---------------------------------------------------------Dave's not here.

Would be great if Harves was up to it but only if he is defiantly thf best man for the job. I hope it's Choco though and I expect it will be, mainly because jaxons has spoken

He was an arrogant pr1ck at Port.
What has he done since?

Anyway Pelchen obviously now runs the club.
I assume he has already hand picked the next coach.
Premiership Coaches in their second gig tend to be exceptional. This has occurred on numerous occasions, see Allan Jeans, Leigh Matthews, Michael Malthouse or David Parkin to name a few.

Dennis Pagan would be great- a top coach and developer of younger talent..and would not take any crap from the Saints senior players.. love also to see SOS or Tudor in the mix. Not convinced about Choco or RHarvey being the answer.
