Oh f@@k the day just gets better.
Hopefully only as an assistant.

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Great player, but another untested senior coach.
If true this club is truly amateur hour.

Scott Watters was a great assistant coach.
If he is head coach, I hope they have Mark Williams or someone like that to hand hold him.
Love Harv's but his communication skills in the media are limitied.
In saying that Watters media skills were tremendous, so if Harv's can communicate where it counts - with the players, thats what matters I suppose.

Been told by more than one relaible person. I was on the Mark Williams wagon and both rang and said Harvey had the gig. Great move if that is the case. Just because Voss and Buckley are no good doesnt mean Harvey will be .

Re: Welcome home Mr R Harvey
Honestly why does the guy have to be a good media communicator?
Good communication with players - paramount
Good communication with staff - just as important
Good communication with the board - next most important
Good communication with media - don't really care, he could sit silent through all press conferences and I would still love him!

Please not as senior coach.
If we are still at the 'appoint club champ player who the fans love' stage we truly are a joke.

I think many of us figure he'll get the gig someday. But the timing has to be right.
Not sure that it is. Very, very happy to be proved wrong.
(And media skills can definitely be taught.)
Always loyal

Harvs is the quite achiever while the others are big noters. If we're going to try an untried coach then it might as well be Banger.CURLY wrote:Been told by more than one relaible person. Couldn't care less if a non senior coach gets the role. Ross proved that idea as incorrect for performance but needs greater "help" on the team longer term development.
The role needs to exhibit team discipline, game strategy, a team leader with communication skills in 4 directions clear accountability and needs to insist cascaded accountability is delivered. He needs the authority to deliver all the above within a clear established boundary and needs to listen and act accordingly to all aspects of the club to ensure full alignment. A senior coach may not necessarily be the best choice and could have an ego that provides limitations to performance within the club's expectations. Guess what?, that could result in an earlier sacking.
Quality person rather than singular coaching seniority for me.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

Re: Welcome home Mr R Harvey
He's done a solid apprenticeship now including time away from the Saints. If he was to be a coach I'd be wrapped. If he comes back as an assistant to someone else as a coach in waiting...similar to Roos' situations at Sydney/Melbourne I'd be even more wrapped. Jaxons has said Choco is our man and so that's likely to be the case. I'm not against that either.
