Sorry to be cynical, but has he trained footballers before?
Melbourne Victory (2 Premierships)

Not AFL.

Levels of fitness in soccer is way below that of afl

Define 'fitness'. Port Adelaide's - Darren burgess this year had a soccer background with Liverpool yet I don't think it mattered too much. Be interesting to see his approach with a developing list.. When Burgess returned to Port he spoke about the load and Km's of AFL compared to Soccer, elite soccer players would often cover 80kms a week in the lead up to a game, compared to 20-30 so i dont think soccer players are well below 'fitness' of afl guys, but Obviously two very different requirements and needs out of training. The idea of writing someone off because of a soccer background is ludicrous..

He just might bring the right ingredients.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Thanks for that sensible response iceman.
I was going to reapnd but then i was just frustrated and angry so i didnt even know where to begin.
Define 'fitness' and define 'soccer'

I can assure firbird some epl players fitness level would be well and truly elite.

Im not even sure where to start addressing this so im glad you did it for me.

Perhaps he could get Simon Garlick as his assistant. Anyway I hope he gives them a swift kick up the ginger!
