I think this would be an excellent outcome. A matchwinner in Billings, an inside mid with leadership qualities in Dunstan and the best outside runner in the draft in Hartung.
Hartung was considered top 5 early in the year and actually had a really good 2013. Maybe he has slipped in the eyes of many becuase he is not as big as some others but his strengths of endurance, speed and elite kicking mean he could serve an apprenticeship under Joey and become an excellent line breaking midfielder into the future.
Garlett isnt going to be at the saints in my opinion (not unless he again doesnt get his name called and go's to the rookie draft) ... my feel is that Essendon see him as worth the risk as they lost their first and second round pick for the supliments they see this as the only way they can get access to a proboble first rounder ... but then didnt Dayle train with Essendon after he was overlooked in last years draft but they turned him down .... seems silly for them to have given up the shot to get him as a rookie when they had the chance only to blow their first pick on him ... but then again this is essendon they also thought that James hird would get off scott free

Interesting quote from SA's under 18 coach Brenton Phillips today who said both Aish and Scharenburg should be higher rated than Billings. Went on to say he expected both to be 200+ games players but Scharenburg would get to 50 games first because his body is more AFL ready and that Aish would probably only get 10 senior games a season for his first 2 seasons until he builds a stronger body.
Would be interesting to know how billings body compares to Aish.

In this day and age of kids returning home after two seasons, I hope we get Victorian and Tassy kids.
Will Kolodjagnij or whatever be available at 18/19?

Is there that many leaving Victoria though or is it a bit of a myth.

who was the last big name kid to want to go home ? the go home factor is i think a bit overstated only fringe players not getting regular games use the go home factor

exactly the exodus of Brissy was more to do with the ammount of games the boys got and the incoming of new coach with club instability ...

I expect us to come last next season unfortunately, I think we'll be able to get that class midfielder that we need with next years pick, I think we're better off getting in a couple of big bodies this season and acres has that x factor, perfect example of a modern footballer.

384 games, 4 B&F's, 3 EJ Whitten Medals, St.Kilda Captain, 2 Time Brownlow Medalist, 8 Time All Australian, 2nd Highest Brownlow votes poller.... The greatest of ALL TIME!!
Assuming Boyd, Kelly, Scharenberg, Aish & Billings go in the top 5.
Reckon all the other bigger bodied types who play midfield or can transition into there likely to be gone by 18: Freeman, Dunstan, Crouch, Salem, Sheed, Bontempelli, Lennon, Kolodjashnij, Acres & Dumont
GWS might take KPD Gardiner to replace Josh Bruce. The only other KP player in the top 20 could be Cam McCarthy.
If one or both of these happen, then someone from the group above should slide.
18 - Anyone from the group of 10 above who slide
19 - Hartung / Zak Jones / Taylor
Next - Jon Marsh / Cripps
Have heard that the Saints are seriously considering Bontempelli with pick 3, although everyone of the so caleed "experts" says that it would be too big of a risk.
I like the sound of him though, anyone who is "Scott Pendlebury like" is definitely worth some serious thought....

every year we get the comparison or current star player stuff touted about players .. it gets the fans excited about the draft but the recruiters would be looking at more than the AFL website claiming he plays like Pendlebury ..
