take what you hear about what we offered for brown with a grain of salt ... i heard that the big offer of what was it 24 and 25 for him was not so much a real offer WCE had said they were not going to trade Brown so after that point anything offered was just talk

While we talk sliding doors moments.
Imagine if buddy hadn't pulled the biggest surprise in recent trade history and gone to GWS?
Mumford wouldn't have jumped ship so fast into gws, instead perhaps as was expected heading to hawthorn. We'd have no leverage and missed out on Savage, not to mention still with mcevoy and no pick 18 of course.

If buddy didn't go to the swans we'd have a very different list.

I bought a shirt from Target once.
It had a hard tag on it too.

I know how Dal feels.

"ST KILDA

In: Shane Savage, Luke Delaney, Billy Longer, Josh Bruce

Out: Ben McEvoy, Nick Dal Santo

Draft picks: 3, 18, 19, 95

Verdict: McEvoy is 24 and at the peak of his powers, but was taken down to Cash Converters. However, if Longer is as good as they say he’ll be peaking at the right time for this club, which lost Dal Santo for compensation pick 25. Three top-20 draft picks is nice enough, but how good is this draft?

Seeing what other clubs recieved that is pretty harsh. I think we did the best we could given where we are at for a rebuild. Grades seemed based on how good the players are rather than potentially could be. eg Sydney gets A+ even though it forced players out.

On the trade for Brown, SEN had their reporter from the trade period saying that we offered any two players on our list for pick one including Rooey and Steven and they said there wasn't anyone they wanted. Now that wouldn't put any pressure on Boyd to make it would it. That was a lucky miss if it was true too.

If Buddy didn't go to swans, we might've had a chance to get Boyd.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Yeah 12 months in football is a long time.Mitch Brown for for pick 24 & 25,how much is he worth this year?
We were interested in Everitt also last year, both not mentioned this year.
I've been surprised at the low prices some players have been sold for(Mumford-35)
We haven,t much joy during trade period for a fair while, so to me this has been "a very good year"on potential
but does encourage optimism.
