the swans were prepared to accept gws's pick 48 or 49 for everitt...so i guess our pick 41 would get the deal done.....gws can go fly a kite.....evertonfc wrote:No doubt Andrejs Everitt can play - and at 194cm, with 20 games under his belt in the past season, he's quite appealing if we could snag him with a later pick.
As Ross Lyon would say, he's done his footballing apprenticeship. Then again, he also said that about Dean Polo

Re: Billy Longer
Everitt is ok, only thing is they need another tall KP backman, reckon Bruce could be a very good inclusion on what I've seen and read.stinger wrote:okay...withdraw the offer and then see if the swans are interested in swapping pick 41for everitt who s probably a better player anyway...and he's a saints supporter....MCG-Unit wrote:Looks like Brisbane are still playing hardball with Longer (like GWS are with Bruce) - now they have 2 days to complete about five trades.
Trade Radio @traderadio 31s
(Gubby) Allan says they have put a "very good" offer to Josh Bruce and they want him to stay...
from BF
Seems like they want another ruck, so the push for Longer.
Bruce would be more the Harry Taylor CHB type, while Delaney is like a Nathan/Mitch Brown FB type - which is what the Saints need IMO (as well as mids)
If deals don't get done by Friday, they may only get one of Longer or Bruce in the PSD

@traderadio: Paul Connors says he thinks Billy Longer will get to the Saints "for sure". Says the Saints are offering 25, and Lions want more

Re: Billy Longer
I wonder if the board changes in Brisbane might have an effect on Longer moving. Edict from above? Viewed more favourably by player and manager?

He wants to come home - don't think anything other than that would had any bearing on Longer's decision. The OtherThommo wrote:I wonder if the board changes in Brisbane might have an effect on Longer moving. Edict from above? Viewed more favourably by player and manager?

Re: Billy Longer
I wouldn't want to give up too much for Everitt - a later pick. Something beyond pick 50. They probably wouldn't accept that - understandably so - which makes a deal unlikely.
As for Longer, let's hope Connors is right and we can do a deal for pick 26. A fair swap for both parties given his desire to come home. We got rolled on Cripps, so hopefully karma delivers this one for us.

Cripps wasn't worth much and still isn't .

I'm rapt with Josh Saunders & Brodie Murdoch. Both are better footballers. I think we rolled them by defaultevertonfc wrote: We got rolled on Cripps, so hopefully karma delivers this one for us.

He doesnt play CHB. he would have been playing HBF. Grundy and richards play on the two tall forwards.

Docherty has gone to Carlton for pick 33.
Now we can get Longer done.

Re: Billy Longer
Good, sets a precedent in terms of value. Longer for #25 would be similar to Docherty for #33, and definitely a win for us.saintspremiers wrote:Docherty has gone to Carlton for pick 33.

Agree with that.
The lions are being screwed over big time, but when players want to leave you have low
bargaining power AND they are in disarray ... Hear that Caroline ??
