Makes the Dal deal easier to swallow... He is just the Shane Savage of that deal... But who knows, he could be an answer...

Re: Welcome Luke Delaney !
slightly in our favour if you listen to the "experts"
he was rated about 60 in this draft
he could have cost pick 59 stand alone
if he turns out will be a bonus...............................been in the system for a while not playing many games.
wish him well...your door of opportunity is open

Re: Welcome Luke Delaney !
So, for Dal Santo, we got Pick 26-ish and Delaney.
....like we thought all along, hey? North may not even use Pick 77.
Happy with that.

Re: Welcome Luke Delaney !
I am just glad that the deal has been done. Welcome Luke.
Dal for Pick 25 and a young Delaney at pick 77, not a bad deal in the circumstances. It's still sad to see Saints stalwarts being "pushed out."

it has been around this time that "Kosi" will headbutt a fence, rip a hamstring or belt someone.

Dempster was a Premiership player in the Swans best 22
Delaney is not in the Kangaroos 22 or future plans
That being said, he can take an opportunity here... And perhaps prove them wrong. He has every opportunity..,,, Zac did it

Scott Thompson did it also. North would have been more than happy to keep Delaney but couldnt afford to in the end.

Re: Welcome Luke Delaney !
Welcome big fella.
Comes to us having been in the system long enough to walk into the true full back spot and not look lost. Fantastic to have a true KPP who can free up Fisher and Gwilt to make an impact without having to play on gorillas and put their bodies under undue stress.
Highlight package is extremely encouraging o say the least. Who knows what he may become with regular footy under his belt. Great deal Saints

Why was Delaney offered a contract at Kangaroos then?BigMart wrote:Dempster was a Premiership player in the Swans best 22

Dempster was a fringe player. Constantly in and out of the team. In fact most people on this forum had hardly any idea about him before we landed him.BigMart wrote:Dempster was a Premiership player in the Swans best 22

Welcome Luke. He may know the boy from Lorne as he also played with the Geelong Falcons

I guess like Brown - he was contracted.borderbarry wrote:My only query is.....why the hell did'nt we try and get him last year instead of preparing to give away everything for Brown..
Luckily West Coast were foolish and let us off thew hook.
As it turns out we get Delaney + Spencer White instead of Mitch Brown.
Surely it fell in our favour?
Some luck going our way for once!

Re: Welcome Luke Delaney !
Let's not tell Demetriou that part of the deal to let Dal Santo go for nothing, as a free agent, was they give us Delaney for a nothing pick in return.evertonfc wrote:So, for Dal Santo, we got Pick 26-ish and Delaney.

Happy with that.
North gain Dal Santo and pick77 for Delaney.
We gain and Delaney and pick 25 for Dal Santo.
Win-win.
