Why do all these dudes suddenly want to come to the Saints?
What's the story?
Don't we have a culture issue and are on the verge of extinction?
Why have 3 young, sought after guys up for trade declared they want to come to the Saints?
What am i missing??

You are missing the fact it was four if you count Savage.Johnny Member wrote:What's the story?

Obviously they weren't cc'ed on the email telling all and sundry the club was about to collapse.
Lance or James??

I wouldn't want to blow the rabble theory out of the water, of course, but could it possibly be that our coach and recruiting team are doing a half decent job of selling the club (notwithstanding the naysayers)?
Didn't Ollie Wines' parents want him to come to us last year based on their discussions with many other interested clubs (sadly it was not to be)?
There is an unmistakeable smell of competence in the air. Somebody better act quickly to find another scandal.

It appears as though things are fine at Seaford even though Fine thinks they are not fine. And that’s fine I suppose; it is a free world afterall. However it’s also fine for others to think Fine is perhaps not feeling fine. And I think that if it is shown that Fine was being mischievous by suggesting things weren’t fine when indeed they were fine then, well, he probably should be fined.joffaboy wrote:Got Mark Fine's email address?SemperFidelis wrote:There is an unmistakeable smell of competence in the air. Pretty much the club guaranteeing something their current club cannot: regular playing time. Both Bruce and Delaney by all reports have been promised the opportunity to hold down a spot as a KPP something we sorely lacked in 2013. In Longer's case my guess is he (and maybe his manager) identified that St Kilda was short on ruck stocks and he could walk into a ruck tandem with Hickey that should work well.

Omg
As kids would say?
3 reasons you are desirable.... In order
1- Cap Space
2 - Chance to get a game
3 - Premiership chance
Which 2 reasons can we put forward??
Btw
Not sure Shane Savage got a say in his destination

Longer might also want out of a fair dinkum rabble (Matthews seems to think so, anyway - so do the other youngsters on their way south). I read somewhere Bruce had a blue with Cameron - post season review, coaching transition, something like that, and even though GWS wanted to keep him, and were willing to match $250K odd p.a., they quickly became resigned to losing him. Media talk, though, so I mark it down as possible only.

Add to this, none of our younger guys wanted out.
Infact, aside from Dal (whom I believe wanted to stay) no one wanted out at all. Including Lenny who should be kicking back in Hawaii now instead of preparing himself for another pre-season!

Brisbane are a rabble..... Worse than us... As I stated in a post elsewhere...
We would be an attractive club for a kid
Money and opportunity like 2001-2003..... Believe it or not, more attractive then and more attractive
Now than 2009-2011.... Ask Armo, Tom Lynch and Jack

But what about Seaford? What about the infighting? The culture??!!
I thought that half our list were looking for the exit! Half of them hate Seaford - the other half dislike it!
But not only has no one left, we have young dudes trying to get in.
It doesn't add up.

Re: Why do all these dudes suddenly want to come to the Sain
What?
So three fringe players coming over.... Billy Longer coming home is proof we are in a strong position as a club
We have gaping holes in our Salary Cap to offer some guys some nice contracts... We have holes in our team to give opportunities...
Look at the key indicators of the club to judge it's position
Ladder Position
Finances
Membership
Stability
