If the swap of picks with the Hawks goes through and we get Longer we will on have 3 picks in the draft (that we will use) - 3,18 & 19? Does Garlett warrant anyone of those picks??
Personally hope for exactly what Emma Quayle has stated she thinks they will draft
Scharenberg ( can play anywhere ) Leader strong character future captain
Dumont ( strong midfielder ) Leader strong character
Dunstan ( strong powerful ) Leader strong character future captain
All elite kicks and users of the football .
Vs Garlett .?
Bit of a no brainer isn't it.
Hope it happens the way Emma predicts is all I will say on this one

I would want at least 1 VIC player in our top 3. Go home factor too strong these days.
Garlett won't get selected in the first two rounds. Too much risk factor. Perhaps and Adelaide or Essendon take the risk seeing as most obvious talent will be gone by the time they enter the draft. Late pick / rookie chance IMO.

We need to move to be a team of on-ballers with above average height (i.e. > 185cms). Easier said than done, but if all the "rebuilding" rhetoric is to mean anything, that's where we start.
We took Nicholas Winmar who was tall and Geelong took Christensen who was short skinny and played forward mostly. I'm not sure who you think worked out better but that doesn't really always work that logic. You want at least a couple of taller on ball players these days but I don't think you should exclude prodigious talent to get them in.
Steven Motlop pick 38 is one of the best players in the comp and started as a small fwd.
Who said Garlett cant kick? I saw the S.A. v W.A. game last year. At one stage Simpson had taken a mark on the 50 m line. It was obvious he did not have the confidence to have a go at the goal, and he handballed backwards to Garlett, who had no trouble kicking the goal from behind the 50 m line.
It's shaping up that we will only use 3 picks and all in the top 20. I don't reckon Garlett will be a Saint unless we still have another pick later in the draft and he is still available.

Way to much risk for this club. Lovett is still too raw. Take him away from his home state of w.a and that could be enough to set him off again . Would prefer a good ten year player than a gun who leaves after 3 years or causes trouble and is sacked or is a damaging influence on the rest .

Lovett?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

a lot of talk about the go home factor ??? it should only matter if the call was on two players for the one spot (ones from vic other from WAetc and they where on par as players) if he is best player at pick 19 take him ... The risk is his past, but upside is you get a player with football ability of a top 5 but for a pick as low as 19 to 25...
A bloke like this should be watters cream , with scotts back ground .
