exactly...
nothing
we now get a pick somewhere between 19 and 26ish
oh my whatever will we do
shesh
have you seen the picks we have?
are you comparing us to melb ffs???
jesus christ, we'll be right in two or three, whats the problem????
Anyone who is a realist is apparently an apologist in BM's eyes.
He is the only one who sees the truth.
Fair Dinkum
Oh BTW I think it is crap we let Dal go for FA but can you do?
Club after a total rebuild they want Delaney, Longer and Bruce. They want Jolley and 3 picks under 20.
Who knows if it will work out.
The only certainty is that BM will come on and call everyone n apologist and carry on like he knows what he is talking about.
But as we saw when he tried to bag the club over the review, he has very little idea outside the cloistered world of schoolchildren and a school gym
Lance or James??

Yeah I just read pick 22 as well. Surely dal is better then Sylvia. I think we should trade one of our picks for either longer, bugg, Myers or buntin

Re: Dal's now gone :(
It is 25 after all the other compensations are included.
Melbourne finished below us on the ladder so their 2nd round pick is before ours.
Simple according to the FA calc Colin Sylvia is worth more than Dal Santo and only 3 spots worse Buddy.

Re: Dal's now gone :(
It's a sh!t deal. We get pick 26 for a player who is still capable of a top 10 b&f finish in the next 2-3 years. Will the player we get with this pick ever finish in our b&f top 10 ?

Apologist!
Spin it as much as you like, convince yourself all you like.... Deep down inside, you know it to be true.... All the bravado and bulls*** on the Internet, doesn't Change the fact....
Out of the 4-6 power clubs of the 2001-2012 period, we are the ones who achieved nothing and are know the worst off?!
But excuses will do, I suppose?....
Seems like you show up on threads just to bag the club Mart.
Another generic broadside that's irrelevant to the thread topic. It's a pattern in your posting.
What would you have done differently? Forced him to stay even though he wanted to go?
He wanted to go. Nothing can be done about that and next year he would have gone anyway, probably for a lower pick as compo.

At pick 25 or 26 it would be about 50/50 they will play 20 games.Zed wrote:It's a sh!t deal. We get pick 26 for a player who is still capable of a top 10 b&f finish in the next 2-3 years. Will the player we get with this pick ever finish in our b&f top 10 ?
So the odds of winning in this not great.

Re: Dal's now gone :(
I'll say it again....
can we win a flag atm ?...............(put answer here)
By the time we are capable would Dal still be with us or be any good?.....(put answer here )
Would it be a good idea to start from scratch and get the best possible low pick young up and comers ? .... (put answer here)
Should we just keep whingeing and moaning or bite the bullet...bide our time and hit the bigtime again with a complete outfit able to actually grab the flag......... ( don't answer that)

This years B&F
Jack Steven -pick 42
Montagna - 37
Geary 58 rookie draft
It might take 10 picks in the 20 - 40 range to find 2 good players... But we need to take some risks to increase our chances at this stage.
Saad, Milera & Ross for 20
12 & 13 downgraded for more picks + hickey & lee
Clearly lots of guys taken after 20 aren't going to make it... so the more shots you take, the more players you find.

Err... what about the 11 years of quality we got from him?SinCitySainter wrote: What a waste.
He was drafted at what pick 13?
11 years of A grade midfield service and we cashed him in for a pick only 9 spots further back?
If you'd told me that back in 2002 I'd think you're mad!
The akermanis trade in 2006 is almost a mirror image in terms of circumstance.
Sure Aker was being pushed out- but he was also a brownlow medalist and in better form at 30 than Dal.
And the lions only got pick 34 for him.
Massive win getting pick 22 for a 30 year old.

Now that all the compensation picks are out and the realisation has set in that we have lost Dal and Big Mac -
'I feel like I have just been robbed while I was standing watching it happen powerless do anything about it'.
It just doesn't seem right has there been a death in family? I wonder if the Saints are doing the right thing - lets hope time heals !
