Melbourne gets Dom Tyson from GWS plus picks 9 and 53 in exchange for picks 2, 20 and 72.

Probably means we will definitely get one of Aish, Scharenberg or Billings.

Yeah would think they need that outside run similar to Whitfield.

I agree with you. This has been melbournes problem they give away early picks. lets see if the media get stuck into them. and they had the audacity to ask for an extra pick cos they are in the poo.saintly wrote:Devilhead wrote:Melbourne gets Dom Tyson from GWS plus picks 9 and 53 in exchange for picks 2, 20 and 72.
i think melbourne got done over.

Dom Tyson every bit as good as Josh Kelly, 9>20 and 53>72. I'd be a very happy Melbourne supporter.saintly wrote:Devilhead wrote:Melbourne gets Dom Tyson from GWS plus picks 9 and 53 in exchange for picks 2, 20 and 72.

I don't mind what Melbourne have done. Tyson has all the potential in the world and as much as any pick 2 in this draft. The Dees will have targeted a draftee/s at pick 9 they see as being available too. Perhaps a Mat Crouch or Nathan Freeman type. They'll get band 3 compo for losing Syliva (pick 21) so parting with their pick 20 isn't too bad, all things being considered.

Tyson has been hampered by injury...a class player when fit.

Re: GWS now have picks 1 and 2
Hypothetical - Would you be interested in trading someone like Steven for picks one and two?

Well it depends. they really rate freeman so if they get him and he ends up as good as Aish or kelly then they end up with Tyson for nothing. Who knows. Certainly doubt we will know for 3 years.

I dont know from the response if you are joking or not. Id actually tell them to get stuffed and that is serious.
Re: GWS now have picks 1 and 2
GWS are more in need of a marquee player to boost its attendance/interest/revenue than someone of top end talent. Talent is not something they are short on.
GWS thought targeting Scully for 1m a year was their equivalent to GC's Ablett. That was clearly way off the mark.
Would they trade in pick 2 or 1, (or both?) for someone of the status of Nick Riewoldt. Yeh, he isn't worth that on the market, but for GWS he could be worth it.
And, regardless of yes or no, would we do it?
