Guys relax!

Centrebet have withdrawn their sponsorship for all clubs/associations that they have sponsored. This is because they've been taken over and now cease to exist.

It looks like we've planned well anyway, as we've just added a new sponsor to the fray.

while terrible to lose a sponsor i get the feel it was a desperation decision that had us go for the centrebet sponsorship in the first place ...

i remember in the NBL when the Perth Wildcats were playing in NZ they had to have their sportsbet sponsorship blanked out on their uniforms and i remember hearing it was to do with the NZ laws or something .. so maybe the club getting the centrebet logo off the jumper is a good thing for our NZ games ...

I assume they're talking about LEDified?

Not sure if that sponsorship covers a HUGE amount on its own - it shared the front and back sponsorship real estate on the jumper, swapping with when we were home or away. That said, I guess it might be less pressure to land a massive deal to cover it? But it also seems there's pressure now coming from other angles to land a decent major deal.

incorrect about pulling out

word over 6 weeks ago- around B&F time
was the contract was due to end at end of October
I believe there was a 'final payment' due which would/will help the bottom line.

just on Clubs balances-
Note the Roos are saying a profit of $1.5 mill
after paying of $2 mill of debt----------- then a few lines down mentioning they only have another $3mill to pay back

Bombers reportedly $7 mill - after taking $5mill overdraft/ loan
Lions were down around $2 mill last year - will be interesting to see their bottom line.

Good to be rid of that parasitic Centrebet sponsorship.

I do appreciate their money and recognise we can't survive without sponsors.
But let's try and cultivate sponsors with a hint of morality.

The only trouble I can see is that our "brand" (F*** I hate that word but it's apt here) might be too damaged for a big sponsor to jump on.
