Delaney NOW De-Listed Free Agent? !!
Did I hear right that Delaney has made himself a De-Listed Free Agent? Don't get too excited just yet. The radio was on SEN at the time !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

May be that what we wanted North to do & may be we will release Dal as a free agent, so in return for Dal we will get pick 22 (compensation for Dal) & Delaney through PSD.Eastern wrote:Did I hear right that Delaney has made himself a De-Listed Free Agent? No need to use a PSD pick on Delaney if he is a de-listed free agent, as per Roberton.

i wouldn't be surprised but we might just pretend nothing is happening to stay with in the legislation.

If Delaney delists himself, he won't be a free agent. Entering the PSD might be an idea though as he just needs to get through GWS and Melbourne to get here.
Yeah nah pleasing positive

Re: Delaney NOW De-Listed Free Agent? !!
Correct me if I am wrong, but if we get end of first round compensation for Dal, unless GWS or Melbourne also lose a free agent, we would get Pick 18, not 22, for Dal, as the compensation picks are taken in order that the clubs involved finished from the bottom. At this stage it would be us, GCS, Hawks. Of course Hawks may have 1st round compensation which would give them 18 and us 19. No matter, we already have their 18.

I still believe there is a chance Dal may attract first round compensation (Pick 4). Our position on the ladder should have no bearing with which level of compensation we receive. It is the level of the player, and with two top three brownlow finishes I doubt if there has been a higher credentialled player lost by a club as a free agent.

It also takes into account the future contract (otherwise clubs would just FA all their old stars and cop a first round compo pick)borderbarry wrote:I still believe there is a chance Dal may attract first round compensation (Pick 4). So based on 'future contract' - pretty sure Buddy has everyone trumped!
Re: Delaney NOW De-Listed Free Agent? !!
Pretty sure the saints would have sounded out likely compo and if it was pick 4 they would've kicked dal out the door to north in a heartbeat. dal said he was happy to do what was best for the club, and that would be it.
it will be a second rounder, something like 21ish, might just keep him

Re: Delaney NOW De-Listed Free Agent? !!
I reckon we could be given an end of first round compo pick for Dal not second round compo pick - which mean we could have 18, 19 (Buddy compo pick), 20 (Dal end of first round compo pick)
Gold Coast have a compensation pick at the end of the 1st round as well but I dont know if it would be in front of ours considering they finished higher on the ladder
If we got a 2nd round compo pick for Dal - as it stands now with the Thomas, Buddy and GC compo picks - then we would receive pick 24

Isn't a delisted free agent a
1. Delisted by their club
2. Not offered a contract at anytime during the year in which they have been delisted
If so and if delany is a now a delisted free agent, WTF didn't north offer him a contract at any stage?

They don't want him or he is surplus to their requirements, but they think we are silly and are prepared to pay a "Kings Ransom" for him !!ausfatcat wrote:Eastern wrote:Did I hear right that Delaney has made himself a De-Listed Free Agent?
