On trade Radio apprently ...?

Dont like it as we need to load up on mids ..
Bains said on SEN he had heard same rumour, but denied it being even spoken about. Did say we had spoken with GWS about what they required for pick 1. However, Was of the opinion that GWS would keep pick 1 for themselves

Yeah not a huge difference, but may help in other trades

next year Joey is a free agent ... i reckon we will do the same as we have done for Dal ... explore what we can get for him and assess if its worth it or not ..
i get the real feeling that the club are looking big picture stuff .. in the past Ross Lyon spoke about not being in the business of making a competitor stronger (when he refused to trade Ball for what Collingwood were offering) i get the feel that Pelch and the crew dont really care if they make a team stronger while we are rebuilding its not going to effect us ... guys like Lenny Dal Roo Fisher Schnied Joey are going to be retired by the time we are ready to hit finals so why not get the most value out of them while we can , and for them they might just jag a flag before they retire ... honestly teams are playing for 2014 us GWS and to an extent Melbourne are playing for 2017

Its not the same as Dal though. Joey hasnt got a clause in his contract, well not that we know of, to tie him to the club the following. season. he can just walk next year and we cant even match his salary.

Joey will be 31 by then.
He may as well finish his career at the Saints.
If he wants to chase a flag - now is his time to go.
I am sure we pay him good coin.

Its only one more year older than Dal now though.

I suspect the McEvoy trade has ensured Dal Santo to remain a Saints player next year.

We can't cry poor if that happens…

He asked for a 3 year deal last year, the club were hell bent on only giving him a 1 year, but eventually caved in and gave him 2 years…

If he's playing good football next year, we should be able to extend his contract early enough… from what I have heard, he wants to stay with us.

I disagree. Dal was rubbish this year until we put him to HBF to rack it up. A considered move by club to inflate his current value. If we get 3 top 20 picks. At least 2 will probably be starting 22 next year. Pick 3 will be one of them and there are guys like Dunstan from SA who are ready to go rnd1 also.

IMO if Armo ends up going, THEN Dal will probably stay. (even though they are different type players, both still ball winners)

I'm interested to see how many more delistings we make…

So far we lost - 6
Milne, Blake, Kosi, Ledger, Lever, McEvoy

Added - 2
Savage, Curren

Can our list size change for next year, or do we have just the 4 spots available?

Currently our picks 3, 17, 18, 37, 55, 73, 91, 109

Bruce for Fisher doesn't change the amount of spots… maybe GWS will ask for one of our medium backs?

You have to wonder how many of Delaney, Karnezis, Weller, Thorp, Longer, Jolly, Jamar we can add without delisting/trading some more players?

Surely we will use any picks we have inside the top 40?

Yep and Dal is thinking now or never.

I think this is their window if they really wanted to do it.

Good clubs wont be beating down their door this time next year.

I still suspect we may be into Myers from Essendon and be trying to use Pick 20 to get him over the line!!

Is that exchange of picks for the McEvoy deal meaning we swap pick 23 for 20 confirmed?

When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

Quite a few people reporting now - eg reporters on their twitter accounts. Believe it to be the case and will be official when the compos are handed out.

You guys know how Melbourne are putting pick 2 on the table...?....

What is the chance that we make an agreement with North Melbourne that we'll release Dal Santo so he can be a free agent. If we trade our third round for Delaney and their 2nd round.

So we'll get 2 second rounds (1 from free agency) and Delaney. They'll get a third round and Dal Santo. Heck, even chuck in a 4th round if they'll agree to it.

Reckon the AFL would throw the book at us and North because how could you justify that?

Sick of playing Half Back? Does he want the Bombers to "stick him in the guts"? :P
