FIXture Leaks? !!
The AFL will start leaking bits n' pieces of the 2014 FIXture pretty soon (I suspect it will start this week).
Already we have;
Rd 5. Friday 25 April (n) St Kilda v ?Brisbane (Westpac Stadium) - saints.com.au
Please post here any leaks you read or hear of, and where they came from
By my calculations, the OFFICIAL FIXture will be released around about 22 October !!

Yeah, that would be Rd 6. That would give us a 10 day break between Brisbane and Carlton, meaning that we get a 6 day break prior to our Sunday Twilight game in Rd 7. Lets hope its NOT in Perth !!plugger66 wrote:Well you would think Carlton at Etihad the day after Mothers day.

Where are we playing interstate first round?
Something like Eagles in Perth on a Sunday at 4:40pm our time.

We MUST be due for a HOME game in Rd 1. How about Nth Melbourne on the Saturday Night. Who knows, there might be a bit of added spice to that game !!SaintPav wrote:Where are we playing interstate first round?

We must be due fir a home game Round 1, but no doubt it will yet again be interstate and followed by a six day turn around.Eastern wrote:We MUST be due for a HOME game in Rd 1. Let's just hope we don't have go something like 39 weeks between meetings with Port Adelaide.

Would be ultra-disappointed if Saints fans boo Dal -- a good bloke who doesn't really want to leave.Eastern wrote:We MUST be due for a HOME game in Rd 1. You know what - I reckon he's the one bloke virtually no Saints supporters would boo if he crossed - he's just too damn nice! It would be like kicking a puppy.Waltzing St Kilda wrote:Would be ultra-disappointed if Saints fans boo Dal -- a good bloke who doesn't really want to leave.Eastern wrote:We MUST be due for a HOME game in Rd 1. I just hope we get more than 2 day games in Melbourne.
I know that is a ridiculous request.

From what I gather no Friday night games ( except for Anzac night ) and plenty of twilights.
But they do have a 17 team draw. Just in case.

Re: FIXture Leaks? !!
The only time I've ever agreed with the Scarlett Pimple is his view of a 17 game fixture. He likens it to the NFL 16 game season(although they have a silly system of divisions and conferences - would love to see the NFL have a free ladder and play a top 8 playoffs or top ten like the afl - anyway, he reckons that every NFL game means something and is a mini event by itself. Plus less wear and tear on the players.
I know people will argue that less games means less revenue but I feel it's justified. I have no prob with a 17 game season. And if they can f*** the idiot commentators off, then it will be nigh perfect! Lol

Will leave a bit of a hole in the fixture; somewhat ironically

Re: FIXture Leaks? !!
It looks like I got it Horribly Wrong with the timing this year. All that I have heard is that it WON'T be Carlton v Richmond on the opening Thursday (possibly Coll v Geel at Etihad).
My revised prediction is that the leaks will now start around next Monday or Tuesday (28 or 29 Oct) and the full FIXture will be released about Thursday 7 Nov. Just like the Trade Period, the AFL will want to "string it out" for as long as they can !!
