Saints In NZ for 5 years

Post: # 1399153Post saintbrat »

http://view.tmclient.ticketmaster.com/? ... 125847&r=0

We had initially agreed to play games in New Zealand for at least three years with the option of playing additional games from 2014 but the new deal confirms that we will play one game on Anzac Day at Westpac Stadium each year.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The deal includes a review period after 2015 that enables all parties to adjust commercial terms of the deal.

As a St Kilda member, you will be able to purchase heavily subsided reserved seating as part of your membership entitlements.

Tickets will be available for purchase on Monday 11 November through our Membership Support Team on 1300 467 246.

2014 St Kilda members can access an application form for Anzac Day tickets from saintsmembership.com.au from Friday 8 November.

A 2014 Anzac Day commemorative ticket will be issued for this game, and tickets will be issued January 2014.

The Wellington Saints is getting closer!

When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

Shame it's only 1 game s year though in NZ.

We need to sell more games than that.

I like the idea of one game per year for 5 years. Any more than that would be a financial burden for many. As it is, one trip across the ditch per year will remain a novelty and can easily fit in with peoples holiday plans. I see it as a POSITIVE for EVERYONE involved !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

One thing I like about this, is that the club has forced the AFL to lock in one game a year for us.
Saints calling the shots for once.
But I worry that the AFL will flex muscle by making us play more Sunday twilight games,
I think most clubs may find that time unpopular?
Due to reduced attendance?
Anyway, at least we get free to air broadcast of the Anzac day one, good for Perth & other non-victorian fans.

So they will punish us for locking in a game in NZ that the AFL wanted to happen anyway? Not sure that makes any sense.

I don't think the last one was televised FTA was it? They punish you for being s*** and while we dwell down the bottom we get the shitty sunday twilight games. North had a monopoly on it because they always lost games.

I wonder if we should play a big melbourne club like the Hawks there next year .
As premiers it may create more interest over there and more supporters from both teams flying over .
You would think that next year we will probably get beaten by them ( on current form ), so a home game at the dome may generate far less revenue than if we play the reining premiers on Anzac day in prime time !

The black on the playing strip will increase and the red and white will shrink.

Eventually our club will be known as the Wellington Kiwis.

Andrew Demetriou will be ecstatic.

Happy about this from a personal view. Making an annual trip south to Wellington from Auckland is going to be a regular thing for me I reckon. Although we lost to the Swans this year I really enjoyed my couple of nights there. Nice city with lots of Sainters on the streets. Recipe for good time.

The Cairns game is still being negotiated and from what I understand we are very keen on it...so watch this space.

we need to play teams like Melbourne , GWS (for now), Gold Coast, WB, Kangas, or brissy over there ... to capitalise on it most effectivly we need to play clubs who we stand a chance of beating , we also need to play against clubs who dont have the marketing budgets that will crush ours ... basically if we want to make the most out of this venture we need to make wellington a saints only strong hold so rotating who we play there every year is the best result for us ... we also need to be proactive in promoting international membership at the games

How do St Kilda members access tickets for the Wellington game?

2014 St Kilda Members can access an application form for Anzac Day tickets from saintsmembership.com.au from Friday 8 November. A 2014 Anzac Day commemorative ticket will be issued for this game, and tickets will be issued January 2014.

Will St Kilda Members lose a game from their 2014 Membership?

No. We appreciate that it may not be possible for all Members to attend this historic match in Wellington. Accordingly, a replacement match will be announced once the AFL Fixture is confirmed towards the end of October. This will ensure that our loyal Members will continue to have access to 11 ‘home’ matches in Melbourne.

Will there be specific Memberships for those in New Zealand?

Yes, absolutely. New Zealand residents will be offered tailored Membership packages which will be launched on the Saints website from the beginning of November 2013.

Hawks promote themselves as the "Tassie Hawks" and are still a Victorian team to their members.

Their 4 sold games are redistributed to another 4 games in Melb. No one misses out and it works quite well for them.

Just sayin'

I would move heaven and earth to get across the Tasman for that game!

I think there is super potential to make a real impact on free to air TV in a hugely sought after timeslot on the one public holiday that Australia wakes up to watch AFL and remember brave acts.

We now have effectively 25% market share yes?
