Gee, I go away for a few weeks and the place falls apart. Why couldn't Plympton joke that BJ left the bummers due to the drug thing to come back to the Saints.

So did the Liquidators move into Seaford overnight and lock the place up?

Surely we 'folded' overnight?
I'll turn on Saints Extraordinary Nonsense shortly to get the latest update on the demise of my beloved footy club.

Re: Watters reassured By Summers and Thompson
I was feeling a little low after reading my way through this thread last night, but d'you know what? This morning I'm almost embarrassed at my post earlier There's only ONE way to combat this crap, and I intend to do it, and it is to make my commitment NOW to renewing my membership and (if I get the chance) ring in to SEN and tell 'em what I think of their scuttlebutt, and urge all supporters to sign up! I would urge my fellow Sainters to GO ON THE ATTACK! Bombard the backstuds with POSITIVE support for the club!
GO SAINTS! (to hell with the rest!)

Not these days. Some dude in his bedroom makes up a juicy rumour, he Tweets it and posts it on BigFooty, and then three hours later the club are forced to issue a statement denying it because a bunch of football "journalists" have beaten it up into a story.St Lenny wrote:I am pretty nervous about all this. I think ppl just need to chill out here... maybe just enjoy a bit of a media black out
there is no story... there hasn't been one for weeks
scandal...
Watters and Pelchen are both very passionate about our list and have had some disagreements about the right moves = positive. I'm glad their debating it
Fisher = aim is to move him on
Dal = will go if he gets a good offer and the saints get god compensation
Roo = wants o stay
riveting stuff really
c'mon guys stop getting sucked in

these days are very different to the old days with the saying where there is smoke there is fire.
anyone can make a joke about a coach being sacked and then within mittues its all over social media as the truth. everybody needs to to just take a deep breath and not take everyihtng that gets said in social medial as gospel.

The new President and his "eminent" Board members need to take control and sort this internal mess out. Identify who they support and either pull the others into line, or move people on. The longer this innuendo goes on, the weaker it makes individuals and the Club.
As usual, egos take over and no-one wants to work together in a team environment.

Re: Watters reassured By Summers and Thompson
For Plympton to make a 'joke' like that like some cheeky schoolboy shows his small-time mentality, and is a perfect example of someone satisfied with mediocrity. If he sees his time at the club as anything more than mediocre, when we had one of our strongest lists in recent history and an excellent maverick coach who his board fought all the way, and who almost won ONE flag (as opposed to being consistently powerful enough to spend years at the top a la Brisbane, Geelong, Sydney), he is a joke.
It's tragic to see small timers involved in our past infecting our present. I hope Scotty ignores that nonsense and still has respect for the club. He is our best chance at the moment of writing a new chapter and avoiding the echoes of failure.
Plympton and anyone else who thinks that Scott was out of line with what he said about our history can go get stuffed, we want to be something a lot more than what we have been.

I find it close to scary if a Senior Coach at an AFL club had to be 'assured' by management regarding job security...
That is plain weird...

I suppose that's better than not being assured after Plympton's idiotic comments. Is it possible that Plympton is Mark Fine's source?

cut throat business
coaches get the chop all the time.
reasonable to be reassured after an ex-president tells a room of journos you have been sacked.
not just some drunk bloke at a pub - this guy was an ex president.
sick joke..

So you reckon we'll finish bottom 3 for 4 years straight?Bluthy wrote:

This may happen but even the Bulldogs didn't do that and they went through a total re build. Richmond weren't that bad either.

Re: Watters reassured By Summers and Thompson
No doubt Plympton has some great financial nous, given his long term ass our pres back in the 90s, but his footy nous is almost non-existent, given his appointment of Timmy Watson as our new messiah in 2000!
its time to make a name for yourself like you've never made before!
