Goddard wins B&F

Post: # 1397849Post Moods »

I know this probably belongs on opposition forum - but thought it interesting. No way he played as well as he did in 09/10 yet couldn't snag a B&F. Maybe bombers list not as strong as they think - or maybe he was the only one still concentrating the last 4 weeks of the season?

Played a full season - Could have a similar system to what we had/have which heavily favours playing 22 games....

First B&F for BJ? Seems Essendon are doing well with the first year of the contract, risk is certainly reducing for that very important fourth year right now.

Did Goddard really win Ess B&F? He was meant to be no good, can't find his own footy, cruising, remonstrates with team mates <insert other shortcomings here>

History is often re-written when someone leaves the club.....

He never won one with us to my knowledge, but he's a good player in a crap team these days. Plus he's their highest-paid player so he should win it.

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

we lost a lot of games by a handful of points, goddard would have been the difference between finishing in the middle and towards the bottom.

He is probably responsible for 2 or so goals if not more for essendon.

Very good player, sorely missed at st kilda but we couldn't match what essendon was offering on and under the table.

Essendon hopefully will have more charges laid by asada and get screwed over again :)

All the rest are Premiership or AA or Brownlow so it doesn't really continue a trend.

Always a very good player. We let him go for reasons that make sense to me. Yep we may have won 2 or 3 more games or no more. Who cares. We still finish down the bottom of the ladder and in 3 years time are still paying 750k a year. At the Saints he didnt deserve to be the highest paid player based on his performance for the last 2 years. We did the right thing but there are people who will always find fault. No need to find fault, we make errors that are obvious to everyone. So does every other club but of course we know our club better.

Yeah, we should never let anyone leave just in case they have success elsewhere and then we feel disappointed.

Do you really think Hickey will be a future 10 year AA ruckman? I dont think you think that. I suppose its a good way of continuing to hang it on the club. Didnt we get other players as well?
