Question about our Cap?

Re: Question about our Cap?
Carlton went over the salary cap when they won a wooden spoon.
We have some good players at the end of their careers.
estimates
Joey 400
Fisher 350
Roo 700
Dal 500
Lenny 350
Kosi 400
Ben 300
Milne 200
Steven 250
schneider 250-300
Gilbert 200
Armitage 250
10-12 players would take up over 1/2 our salary cap and I was trying to be conservative.
So some of them haven't had great years, however they have had very good careers or we are paying them to not go.
Big ben could walk into almost any club, same with Armitage and Jack steven.
I guess with the exception of Ben McEvoy, Jack Steven and Armitage, not many will see the start of season 2015, and maybe 1 or 2 might see the start of 2016.

I think you are underestimating what players get. Milne would be at least 300k, Gilbert very close to that, Lenny on around 500k, Fisher at least 450k. Then if the Saints are smart they would be now be talking to Jack and offerring a new deal on about 450k and a longer contract.
Re: Question about our Cap?
i probably concur with you Plugger.
Was trying to be conservative.
I was guestimating and doesn't change the tenet of my argument that we have/have had good value from most of the money spent.

Of course we have. We made a decision in the RL times to keep our stars and may have paid overs for a few. the problem with that is it meant we couldnt get good players from other clubs like the hawks did. It was a decision that was a bounce or a toe poke away from being the right way to go.
Re: Question about our Cap?
Fisher would be on way more than 350 deservedly.... AA .... dual best and fairest
He was elite and I rate him as easily the third best saint since 2000
Easy 500k

Re: Question about our Cap?
can't find a right thread fit for this article but knew there had been numerous discussions on Sydney's salary cap and HOW they fit Buddy
apparently the same way the Pies fit all their premiership players into the last couple of years
List of 38 and bigger rookie list

The 38-player strategy is becoming more common and Collingwood also had a list of 38 and multiple rookies in 2013.
