Re: Ledger delisted
A seemingly minor detail, but if he goes to fremantle for free and we get in a bidding war for Michie… then it could be a mistake de-listing him before a possible trade involvement.SainterK wrote:Minor detail, carry on being annoyed at the club if you wish

Possibly a bit of "You can't sack me, I quit"Spinner wrote:
Wow!
Obviously we would have delisted anyway?
Sainter for life.
Re: Ledger delisted
But I thought the club were being disgusting by telling him he was wasn't needed on twitter.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

To be totally honest Ledger probably didn't have trade value. No use holding on to him in the hopes of a trade then.
Thats Mr. Smartarse to you
Re: Ledger delisted
Seems reasonable.
He got the last 2 games for the year, was ok. Clearly he'd be wanting to look for a new place that gives him opportunities.
it has been around this time that "Kosi" will headbutt a fence, rip a hamstring or belt someone.

Re: Ledger delisted
well that at least takes my annoyance away from the club in making stupid decisions (IMHO of course).
he wants to go so #$%& him
still think he should have been played more this year. won't see any value from the games we put into Jones, Ray etc

Him and Cayden Beetham
Only two players I know that have requested to be delisted?!
Embarrassing stuff really

Re: Ledger delisted
Why is that embarrassing? Both those guys seemed like square pegs trying to go into round holes. Beetham just decided he didn't want to do it anymore from what I remember. And Ledger's had plenty of talk around him since the beginning that he had trouble fitting into a team environment. It happens.BigMart wrote:Him and Cayden Beetham

If you know more enlighten us. Or should the recruiters have known their character earlier? Maybe...but sounds like hindsight.
Re: Ledger delisted
He wasn't happy at StK...
Not a secret....
He will prosper elsewhere.... I would make a large bet that he will end up with far better numbers than Jamie Cripps....
He requested to be delisted because he has already got a gig at another club.... I would suggest he 'doesn't like' StK?!

Re: Ledger delisted
Perth boy. Maybe going back there? We got Roberton as someone pointed out earlier much the same way, although he wasn't unhappy at Freo. Swings and roundabouts. Beetham was a real pity though. Either him carrying on, or using that pick on someone who lasted.Am sure there were picks beyond 9 that in hindsight we should have got. Luck of the draw, unless it was known he was flakey.

I wish him well, but we don't need someone around who doesn't want to be there...
It's certainly not mutual to the current coach, Luke ball anyone?
Re: Ledger delisted
Just confirms the mail going around here...bit up himself...why aren't I in the firsts...I'm ledger...wait for it...dary. They don't appreciate my genius at bombing it mindlessly forward. Why should I listen at meetings...I know everythink already....besides I'm really behind on Angry Birds...
Bye bye Tom. If you can fight your way into this team finishing 3rd bottom you've got a long, long way to go. You're currently on the wrong side of the Ledger.

least we got another 10 games into CJ though
Re: Ledger delisted
All the rubbish about his tank and disposal was largely derived by supporters, generally on here?.....
You don't average 25 if you don't run hard and spread for 4 quarters, and he is a good dual sided kick?.....
Defensive play and decision making need to get better.... But he finds the footy with ease, at AFL level also
He wanted out,it's that simple.....

Re: Ledger delisted
It's tricky w/o the coach's rationale weighing in...
but there is just no way I can accept that not playing him until the last 2 games whilst getting games into at least 1/2 dozen players that were not playing well is somehow good management.
And the fan explanations... poor form, poor tank, poor attitude, is all about me, is a big party boy, wants to go home, won't listen to the coaches

so you wanted more games into a player who wanted to leave - OK thenskeptic wrote:It's tricky w/o the coach's rationale weighing in...

Oh BTW - I think we should have kept him. Dissapointed he has left bet oh well, swings and roundabout. We lose a Ledger, we get a Roberton.
Lance or James??

Re: Ledger delisted
Not bothered he's gone in the slightest.
Pick #59 in the 2010 draft...was a hopeful selection.
From Claremont...add in an interstate selection...thereby a risky, hopeful selection.
Played 8 games in 3 seasons and wants to leave so now a wasted pick.
Wipe the slate. Get someone else on the list who may be better and will want to play for the Saints.
Goodbye. Good riddance. Move on.

Re: Ledger delisted
Well that is obvious because he asked to be delisted. No great loss unless 8 games in 3 years is a loss. Also poor in the Sandy B&F or do the coaches their also have it in for him. Is a big chance to just play WAFL next year.BigMart wrote:All the rubbish about his tank and disposal was largely derived by supporters, generally on here?.....

Re: Ledger delisted
Is that somehow different to requesting a trade? Because Judd did that. Gunston, Caddy, Tippett. Mitch Clark, Des Headland. Jesse White is doing it right now. Many, many good players over a lot of years have asked to move on because they weren't happy at their club. Why is this any different?BigMart wrote:Him and Cayden Beetham

come on JB now ur just being silly
u don't know for how long he wanted to leave. neither do I but i bet it started in the 2nd half of the season when he was doing ok n watching ppl not doing as well overtake him
as for point 2, u missed the point. all of those alleged issues didn't stop him having 2 pretty good games at the end. sure they were against weak opposition but u can only play in the games ur chosen
are u happy with how he was managed this season?
