GWS can throw in their 3rd and 4th round picks as they won't use them...Devilhead wrote:Reckon it could be something like -
Dal and a swap of 3rd round picks for Delaney and Norths 2nd round pick and then we will on trade the 2nd round pick we get from North to GWS for Bruce
So we still get to keep our 1st and 2nd round picks - get Bruce and Delaney - downgrade our 3rd round pick and lose Dal
Just a random way off the mark guess

I reckon Dal is worth around pick 20, Delaney about 50
North's 2nd round pick will be about 30 after compos....
30 & 50 for a 20 is bad enough without downgrading our 3rd round as well.
Delaney is perfect for the PSD as I doubt GWS or Melbourne will take him.

altogether....
no offence but i would not hold supporters opions to highly , we have sum that want trade roo sum that thought tommy walsh was the next lockett . When a player says he wants out most the time supporters turn on them, he's no good etc.
If watters and co see potential in them id back him in

So has Riewoldt said he wants out?

Correct. Dawson was less than that when he was delisted by Hawthorn. That was over 4 grand finals and 13 finals matches ago.maverick wrote:Oh well, let's change tack then, the great mind has spoken...Jacks Back wrote:Ox on SEN reckons Delaney is a 4th stringer and we would be mad to get him.

He himself said that anyone is tradeable. not sure I agree with that. I mean Lennt is the only one on the list I would say that about.
What if the Tigers were to offer their 1st rounder (#12) or Collingwood theirs (#10 or #11) surely we'd be mad to turn that down.

Re: Official Trade Rumours thread (all in here please)
why are people talking about dal santo for a 2nd rounder or 3rd rounder plus delaney and that ilk type of player.
burgoyne cost hawthorn pick 9 and that was when his career was threatened by a knee injury. He also missed the majority of the following year with it.
Dal can play a minimum of 100 games for a club if he goes. i expect a very good first rounder. or 2nd with a good prospect ala dom tyson.
Id be disappointed if he went for less and would seriously lose faith in the pelican

So would you trade all the older stars in the one year if we got picks under 20? Surely that doesnt create an environment for a successful club.

Maybe because we keep losing our stars. Dont get me wrong, I think BJ had to go because of our situation but I find it strange anyone would just burn our Captain of so many successful years, well for us, just because we might get a pick that could be a dud or obviously a good player. if Rooy wants out then its a different story as it for all our older stars but do they want out? I certainly dont know.

would hope we end up using nothing above pick 40 in the draft except for elevation to senior list.

Re: Official Trade Rumours thread (all in here please)
Reckon they should go with Josh Bruce (more a Harry Taylor type than Mitch / Nathan Brown type) and forget about Delaney, for now - esp if it means losing Dal Santo. A North supporter on BF wanted to give up both Delaneys to anyone who wants them....
Who knows Delaney might come good, but I'm not keen and prefer Bruce.
If they're interested in Delaney - might as well look at Niall McKeever 24, 197 / 95 delisted by BL, prob be as good IMO
Really need to get more inside mids, in trades and the draft.

Re: Official Trade Rumours thread (all in here please)
Getting a goo player via pre season draft is a must. Put a price on, don't talk to gw or dees. Sadly though, I don't think there would be any a graders in that boat. A Delaney type might be our only hope. Gotta love being a saints supporter.
If rumours are true we will be an under 23 team with a multitude of 2nd rd picks. Maybe we can package em all up for a dud.
Whatever happens, it won't be dull
Go Saints. Love this club

Think every poster here would want at least a 1st round draft pick if Dal was to go but the talk is that North will not be parting with their 1st rounder because they will need it for McDonald father and son.
Remembering also that Burgoyne had only just turned 27 when traded to the Hawks whereas Dal will be 30 at the start of next season - if Dal were to play another 100 games then that is at least another 5 seasons - his ouput in that time is likely to drop off from what it is now which is already questionable.

Dal to NM -> Delaney + Pick 25 to Saints
Pick 25 + Fisher to GWS -> Bruce + Pick 10 to Saints
Effectively Pick 10, Delaney and Bruce for Dal and Fisher
Hope Pelchen can get something like this done
